TheAkame48Falls Falls has been a place of Shugendo training since ancient times, probably due to the power released from the falls.``Dainichi Falls'' This waterfall is named after Dainichi Nyorai, the person most worshiped by Shugendo practitioners.
This waterfall is about 10 minutes up a steep mountain off the promenade, and is said to be a phantom waterfall because very few people visit it on a regular basis. This waterfall does not have a basin, so you can get close to the bottom of it, so you can gently lean in and close your eyes to be struck by the waterfall, which flows gently like a silk thread.
