Iga Ueno Castle

TakatoraTodo, and today the inner moat, stone walls, and castle tower built in 1930 remain. Inside the three-story castle, there are weapons and armor, relics of the Todo family, and 46 ceiling paintings of famous people, including Yokoyama Taikan. The stone wall of the inner moat, which boasts one of the highest heights in Japan, is also a must-see.

In addition, local materials from IgaCity are on display. The current three-story castle tower was built by Mr. Katsu Kawasaki in 1933. It is also called Iga Cultural and Industrial Castle and is a designated cultural property of the city.

NinjaMUSEUMofIgaryu (Ninja House)

This is a former wealthy Iga mansion relocated to Ueno Park. From the outside, it looks like an ordinary thatched-roofed farmhouse, but there are defensive mechanisms installed throughout the mansion. Inside the mansion, a kunoichi (female ninja) will guide you and explain things such as don-den-gaeshi, trick doors, and hiding things, including demonstrations.

There is also a ``Ninjutsu Experience Plaza'' where you can experience shuriken throwing (for a fee) and Don Dengeshi, a ``Ninja Experience Hall/Ninja Tradition Hall'' where you can see real ninja tools and experience ninjutsu, and a shop with original ninja goods called ``Ninjabo''. I am.
We also hold a ninja show, which is also very popular (charges apply; dates must be confirmed).

Haiseiden

The octagonal hall is shaped like Basho's travels, and the roof is thatched with cypress bark.
Inside the shrine, there is a life-sized Iga-Yaki seated. It has been designated as a cultural property of the city.
It was built in 1942 to commemorate the 300th anniversary of Basho's birth.

Dengakuza Wakaya

The taste of Iga, the famous Dengaku. It's one of the most popular dishes, but for lunch, it's definitely the tofu dengaku from Wakaya, which boasts a 170-year history. The store has been rebuilt and has a new look, but the nostalgic taste is still there. Tofu is a typical healthy menu item, so even those who are concerned about dieting can enjoy it to their heart's content.

Katayaki Kamata Seika

We manufacture and sell Katayaki, an Iga specialty that is said to be based on the portable food of ninjas. Kamata Seika adds grated yam to the dough, and you can smell the sweet and fragrant smell at the store! Katayaki has a long shelf life and is perfect as a souvenir from Iga Ueno. As the name suggests, it becomes hard over time, but the softness you can get freshly baked at the store is a local specialty.

Ride for about 30 minutes from Iga Railway Nishi-Ote Station to Iga-kambe Station, then take the shuttle bus for about 45 minutes.

TheAkame48Falls is a beautiful piece of natural art created by numerous waterfalls connected upstream of the Takigawa River that flows on the border between Iga and Yamato. It is located in the center of Murou Akame-Aoyama Quasi-National Park and is approximately 4 kilometers long.

The mysterious nature of Akame has been selected as one of the 100 best waters of the Heisei era, 100 best waterfalls in Japan, 100 best forests for forest bathing, and 100 best walks. The harmony of the sounds will make you enjoy nature even more. Enjoy a walk while bathing your whole body in negative ions!
