Onto Shinto ritual
Onto Shinto ritual

Date: Saturday, February 10, 2024 (second Saturday in February every year)

It is said to have been established in the early Edo period, and has been passed down for over 300 years as a ritual to pray for the exorcism of evil spirits and the safety of one's family.
The lion dance consists of a ``zashiki dance'' during the day and an ``uchi dance'' at night.During the day, many people from the area visit a community center called an ``inn'' and offer offerings to the head of the shrine.
Late at night, tengu and onlookers hold an event called ``Uma,'' where separated male and female lions dance while calling each other's names.
It was designated as an intangible folk cultural property by the prefecture on March 18, 1968 (S43).
Held on the second Saturday of February every year.
