2024 Hydrangea Festival Act 2 "Annabelle and the Shabby Chic Hydrangeas" *Closed on Sunday, July 7th

Kazahaya no Sato - Kappa no Furusato - is 90 minutes from Chubu Centrair International Airport and 5 minutes from the Hisai IC on the Ise Expressway. It is 32 minutes via the Ise Expressway to VISON, one of Japan's largest commercial resorts, 25 minutes via the Chuse Bypass to Senshu-ji Temple, which was designated a national treasure in 2017, 70 minutes via National Route 23 to IseJingu, and 41 minutes via the Ise Expressway to the World Heritage Site, Kumano Kodo Onna-toge Pass Climbing Trail. It is an ideal place to stop and have lunch on your way to or from sightseeing in Ise-Shima.
Kazahaya no Sato is located on the banks of Kazahaya Pond, which has a circumference of 3.8 km, and is located within the Ise Onsen Golf Club on a hilly area of approximately 78,000 square meters. Kazehaya Pond is one of the 800 irrigation ponds built across the country by Emperor Suinin in October of 35 AD. During the Sengoku period, the lord of the Tsushiro domain, TakatoraTodo, named the land where he irrigated it with the name ``Kazehaya,'' hence the name ``Kazehaya Pond,'' and it remains one of the prefecture's leading water sources for rice fields.
Since 2004, the facility's users and staff have been working together to grow plum blossoms, wisteria, hydrangeas, and cosmos flowers. As the first flower garden in Japan to incorporate horticultural welfare, the facility is working to combine the environment and welfare.
A total of 77,700 hydrangeas of 45 varieties were planted across a vast hilly area of 33,000㎡, and were designed with designs such as "Love Wave," "TSU Wave," "Hydrangea Flower Clock," "Hydrangea Flower Beds by Variety," and "Borrowed Scenery of Kazahaya Pond."
From the viewpoint overlooking half of the hydrangea area, a spectacular view will make you cheer. It is a different world created by hydrangeas. Due to the beauty of the plantings that make the most of the environment, it has been praised as the most beautiful hydrangea garden in Japan.
The varieties that can only be seen at Kazahaya no Sato, such as ``Selma,'' ``Sharona,'' ``Serena,'' ``Sandra,'' ``Sabrina,'' and ``Sierra,'' as well as ``Blue Temari,'' ``White Temari,'' ``Pink Temari,'' ``Sumida Fireworks,'' ``Sky Blue,'' ``Marine Blue,'' ``Tsukasa Blue,'' ``Chaprit,'' ``Sangaiah,'' ``Red Sensation,'' ``Koijigahama,'' ``Kasurarin Pink,'' ``Uzu,'' ``Benikake,'' ``Aogake,'' ``Shirokake,'' ``Nanadanhana,'' ``Jogasaki,'' ``Junihitoe,'' ``Lemon Wave,'' ``Mikata Yae,'' ``Akishino Temari,'' ``Kurenai,'' ``Princess Hydrangea,'' ``Annabelle,'' ``Pink Annabelle,'' ``Galaxy,'' ``Dance Party,'' ``Happy Friend,'' ``Dolce Chic,'' ``Son,'' ``City Line Paris,'' ``Black Diamond Red Angel,'' and ``Rin'' will be in bloom.
The "Gakuhana" flowers start to change color in late May, and in mid-June all varieties reach their "beautiful" stage. After the "Shinhana" flowers bloom, the Gakuhana flowers turn "shabby chic" (they have a certain elegance and class in their oldness). At Kazahaya no Sato, the best time to see hydrangeas is called "beginning to change color" → "beautiful" → "shabby chic". You can also take photos of sunrises (reservations required) and sunsets. The best time to see them is from June 10th to 20th.
Take a stroll among the sounds of wild birds such as pheasants (Japan's national bird), Japanese bush warblers, and Japanese white-eyes, and relax in a foot bath (only available during the Flower Festival). During the Flower Festival, there will be a "Kazahaya Teahouse" and a "kitchen car" set up, where you can bring your own lunch, in the many gazebos (22 rest areas) and on the lawns! Enjoy the "healing flower scenery," a different world that you cannot see in your daily life, with three generations of family, friends, or groups.
