"Plum Garden" opens RedHilForestofHisa Umeno Garden Red Hill Heather Forest

"Plum Garden" in RedHilForestofHisa, a weeping plum that heralds early spring
The ``Plum Garden'' is open only during the blooming period at ``Red Hill Heather Forest'' in Akatsuka Botanical Garden's satoyama.
The park will open from Friday, February 9th in 2024 (until mid-March)
The approximately 3,000 square meter plum garden has weeping plums such as Kureha weeping, Ryokugaku weeping, and Namba weeping, as well as standing plums such as Kagoshima Beni, Ichieno plum, Mangetsu, and Shirakaga. A total of 50 plum trees are planted.
Most of them are over 3m high, and some are over 5m.
In addition, Christmas roses bloom beautifully at the foot of the plum trees, adding color.
In addition, plants that grow naturally in Satoyama, such as Quercus quercus, Japanese oak, and wild cherry, as well as garden varieties of Semper sequoia, Fuu, and cherry, as well as flowering trees such as Chinese cabbage and conifers, are also planted.
To get to the plum garden, there is a passageway from the entrance, past the rose garden, and on the way to Kokoro Pond.
At this time of year, in addition to the plum garden, Christmas roses, camellias, daffodils, and early-blooming cherry blossoms bloom throughout Red Hill.
