Tae-ji Temple, located at the eastern foot of Mt. Otonashi, is an old temple of the Shingon sect founded by Gyoki. It is famous as a temple of flowers, with wisteria in late April and hydrangeas in June. Some of the hydrangeas at Taeji Temple are nearly 100 years old, and many of the hydrangeas are mainly Gaku hydrangeas.
