What is GozaishoRopeway?

GozaishoRopeway is a ropeway that connects Yunoyama Onsen and the summit of Mt. Gozaishodake, the main peak of the Mt.Gozaisho Mountains. It has a long history, having opened in 1959, and there is also Japan's only ropeway museum on the 3rd floor of Yamagami Koen Station!

The ``double-track automatic circulation system'' that operates GozaishoRopeway is also extremely rare, and can currently only be seen on the Miyajima Ropeway and GozaishoRopeway in Japan.

This time, this facility was selected as an "Anshin Mie Rea Excellent Store", so we would like to interview it!

Take a 15-minute walk in the air on the ropeway♪

GozaishoRopeway has a total of 38 gondolas. Ten of them are the new gondola "Lumiere". Lumiere is not only new, but also has large windows, so you can fully enjoy the spectacular panoramic view from the air.

There's also a viewing window on the floor, so it's a little nerve-wracking, but be sure to enjoy the scenery directly below your feet!

The white iron tower you can see along the way is 61m high and is the tallest ropeway tower in Japan! This "White Iron Tower" can be seen even from the Chita Peninsula, and is a landmark for great photo opportunities.

There is so much fun to do at Sanjo Park!

There are five observation decks and observatories in total, including the spectacular open view of Fujimi-iwa Observation Deck, where you can see Mt. Fuji, and Bokodai, where you can see Lake Biwa. You might be able to meet a certain "Japanese serow"! ?

In this article, we visited in December, but in winter you can enjoy the silver world, frost-covered trees, and ice waterfalls that are rare in Mie Prefecture. One of the charms of Mt.Gozaisho is that you can enjoy nature in all four seasons throughout the year!

It's fun to take a deep breath and feel refreshed in the great outdoors, or take a leisurely walk with your camera in hand.

Thorough measures against infectious diseases with photocatalyst spray and fogger on!

“The inside of the gondola is small and I might be worried about getting infected.”

Don't worry! The inside of the gondola is antibacterial with photocatalyst spray, and every corner is disinfected with a fogger-on (sprayer) every time the gondola is replaced.

The windows can be opened, so there is plenty of ventilation, and we are currently limiting the number of people on board, and we have also installed shatterproof sheets! Of course, at the entrance to the station, temperatures are taken with a non-contact thermometer and people are asked to wear masks.

We have taken thorough measures, so please enjoy with peace of mind!

How was GozaishoRopeway?

Not only can you see the seasonal scenery from inside the gondola, you can see the huge and strange stones below, but the view that extends beyond Yokkaichi and Ise Bay to the distant Chita Peninsula is spectacular, and it only takes 15 minutes without climbing. It is also attractive that you can enjoy the scenery from the top of the mountain.

Also, at the foot of the mountain is Yunoyama Onsen, which is famous as a beauty bath, and there are many facilities where you can take a day trip to the bath. After enjoying GozaishoRopeway, we recommend relaxing in the hot springs, so please stop by on your way home♪
