"Sakakibara Onsen" is known as the place where Ise-san takes baths. Among them, "Yumoto Sakakibarakan", which we will be covering this time, is the only inn with a hot spring source on the premises. Please enjoy the famous hot springs celebrated around the world while enjoying our signature food.

What is Sakakibara Onsen?

Sakakibara Onsen is located at a transit point from Kyoto to Ise, and was once a hot spring resort where a purification ritual called ``Yugori'' was performed when visiting IseJingu.

It is also known as the hot spring loved by Sei Shonagon, and in the Pillow Book, it is described as ``Nachiguri no Yu (*), Arima Hot Spring, and Tamatsukuri Hot Spring,'' and is one of Japan's three famous hot springs, the Hot Spring for Beauty, and the one that heals love sickness. Many poets wrote about it as a hot spring from the Kamakura period to the Muromachi period.

(*) “Nanaguri no Yu” refers to Sakakibara Onsen.

Among these Sakakibara Onsens, we will introduce "Yumoto Sakakibarakan" in a calm space unique to a long-established store that has been in business for more than 100 years, Kaiseki cuisine using ingredients from the beautiful country of Mie, original cosmetics made from hot spring water, and surrounded by nature. An inn where you can feel the charm with all five senses, such as the beautiful scenery.

Furthermore, we have been selected as an "Anshin Mie Ria Excellent Store" this time, so we would like to interview them!

Japanese-style guest room that feels like a long-established inn

The guest rooms are Japanese-style spaces with a calm atmosphere, where you can spend a relaxing time.

When I visited for this interview, it was just the season for autumn leaves, so I was able to enjoy the trees turning red and yellow from inside my room.

By the way, those who check in by 5:00 pm will be treated to matcha tea and sweets, so it's a good idea to take a break on the spacious veranda with gentle light.

The theme of Kaiseki cuisine, which uses plenty of hot spring water, is beauty and health.

Yumoto Sakakibarakan also boasts monthly Kaiseki cuisine!

You can enjoy kaiseki cuisine using plenty of ingredients from the rich nature of the beautiful country of Mie, including Matsusaka beef and spiny lobster, as well as rice, vegetables, salt, and tea from Mie Prefecture.

In addition, the ``Onsen Vegetable Steaming'' using the source water from Sakakibara Onsen is a special dish that can only be enjoyed here! I feel like I can become beautiful from the inside out♪

*Ise lobster is available from October, when fishing is allowed, until the end of April.

Our commitment to food is also reflected in our seasonings and tea!

"Pearl Salt" is made by cooking Okushima's seawater with pearls and pearl oysters, and "Hishio" is made by making koji from whole soybeans and barley and fermenting it for over a year. , and the garnishes are also carefully selected.

After your meal, you can enjoy three types of tea from Mie Prefecture, including Karigane Hojicha, kabusetea, and Genmaicha. You can even blend it to your liking!

Original lotion made with luxurious spring water

The shop sold original shampoos and lotions made with alkaline spring water that has a high whitening effect.

It's the same as the one installed inside the hot springs, so it's nice to be able to check the effectiveness before purchasing. The packaging is cute, so it's perfect as a gift for a friend or loved one.

What does the source taste like?

The source water of Sakakibara Onsen is used not only for bathing, but also for cooking, lotion, and many other things.

There was a "free drinking fountain" where you could drink as is!

I wonder what it tastes like...? When I tried drinking it with this in mind...surprisingly, it didn't have any strong taste, and I ended up drinking it quite well.

I look forward to its effectiveness...♪
