掲載日:2022.02.16

We interviewed IseJingu Miyake Shoten Oharai-Machi which is crowded with visitors to Ise Jingu.

The only imperial sake in the whole country

At IseJingu, the refined sake that is offered before the shrine every day is called ``goryoshu.''
Shirataka, as you may know, is the only sake selected as an imperial sake among the many types of sake available throughout the country.

Because of this connection, ``Shirataka Miyake Shoten Rei'' is located on Oharai-Machi, right at the base of IseJingu, and you can enjoy special sake from the brewery ``Shirataka''!

This time, this store was selected as an "Anshin Mie Ria Excellent Store", so we came to interview it!

Renovating the traditional standing drinking style

Shirataka Miyake Shoten Rei is a shop with an atmosphere that retains its old-fashioned appearance, just like the old townscape of Oharai-Machi Street.

Before the coronavirus pandemic, it was a standing bar that was crowded with people, but now it has changed its business style to prevent infectious diseases. The counter has seats at a certain distance and partitions, and is currently operating as a restaurant where customers can sit and enjoy drinks and side dishes.

Special limited edition sake “Junmai Ginjo Taruka”

The menu you can order at this restaurant is very simple, with only two set menus: ``Junmai Ginjo Taruka'' and ``Junmai Daiginjo.''

Among them, ``Junmai Ginjo Taruka'' is a special limited edition sake that is only available at this store nationwide, and it is a drink that has a pleasant barrel aroma that goes down the throat.

The set comes with carefully selected snacks such as ``Iwato Salt'' from Ise Futami, ``Shiokombu'' from Ise Shutoku Konbu, and ``Yakitama''.

Tasting Junmai Ginjo Taruko

For this interview, we actually had the proprietress pour us a special limited edition sake called Junmai Ginjo Taruko.

The sake is poured so thickly that it almost overflows, giving off a nice aroma.

According to the proprietress, the rise due to surface tension is a sign of a good, sticky sake.

Perfect as a souvenir from visiting IseJingu

There is also a store in the same building that sells alcoholic beverages as souvenirs.
Of course, you can also purchase special limited edition sake and other local sake, so don't worry if you come by car.

If you come to IseJingu, be sure to try the special sake from Shirataka, the only sake brewery in Japan that has been selected as the official sake of IseJingu Jingu!
