What are the cherry blossoms on the Miyagawa River?
The Miyagawa Tsutsumi Cherry Blossoms are a famous cherry blossom viewing spot in the Nakajima district IseCity, with approximately 1km of cherry blossom trees along the river.
FugamaruThis row of cherry blossom trees is called ``Hitome Senbon,'' and as the name suggests, there are about 1,000 cherry trees.
Due to its beautiful scenery, it has been designated as kachiji by the prefecture, and has also been selected as one of Japan's top 100 cherry blossom viewing spots.
There are many cherry blossoms with thick trunks and branches, so it's a sight to behold♫

- ① Please take thorough measures to prevent infectious diseases, such as wearing a mask, maintaining social distance, and frequently washing and disinfecting your hands before viewing the show.
- ② There are no trash cans, so be sure to take your trash home with you.
- ③ During the cherry blossom blooming period, it has been announced on the official website of IseCity that people should refrain from holding parties and using fire in Miyagawa Tsutsumi Park.
When are cherry blossoms blooming and the best time to see them?
Normally, the flowers bloom around late March, and the best time to see them is reached at the end of March, but in 2022, the best time to see them may be delayed due to the extremely cold weather. *The best time to see the flowers was March 30th in 2021.

Parking lot location and directions
When the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, a temporary parking lot with approximately 150 spaces will be opened in Miyagawa Tsutsumi Park, and you can use it for free. *Temporary parking lot will be opened from March 26th (Saturday) to April 10th (Sunday) in 2022.
This parking lot is located under Wataraibashi Bridge and can be accessed via a road a little further from the bridge.
The map above shows the route to the parking lot, and the starting point is the Nakajima Signal intersection.
For directions, those coming from the Matsusaka area should turn right at the Nakajima signal after crossing the bridge, and those coming from the Toba area should turn left at the Nakajima signal and continue along the road until the first stop. Turn right at the traffic light (Tsujikuru signal) and you will be on the road that leads to the parking lot.
There will be a staff member at the entrance to the parking lot, so please follow their instructions to move your car.
When the Fugamarucherry blossoms are in full bloom, the parking lot tends to fill up and the roads can become congested, so we recommend using public transportation to visit.
The nearest stations to Chamare Yamada-Kamiguchi Station on the JR Sangu Line and Miyamachi Station on the Kintetsu Yamada Line, and it's a 15-20 minute walk from each station.
By the way, there is a parking lot near the public restrooms at Miyagawa Tsutsumi Park, but there are only a few parking spaces here, so it's a hotly contested area.

① Miyagawa Tsutsumi Park
Miyagawa Tsutsumi Park is a place where large cherry blossoms are concentrated, so it's a spectacular sight to see!
When you enter the row of cherry blossom trees, you will be overwhelmed by the sight of them in full bloom, so much so that you can't even see the sky.
When taking photos, you can not only take photos of the cherry blossoms, but also take pictures of green grass and grass to make the photos feel more like spring.
② Embankment road
Retro-style paper lanterns line the road along the embankment, creating a nostalgic atmosphere.
At night, the lanterns are lit up and you can enjoy the cherry blossoms at night. Lighting hours in 2022 are from 18:00 to 21:00.
③ Watarai Bridge sidewalk
The sidewalk of Watai Bridge is a spectacular view point where you can see the rows of cherry blossom trees! The sidewalk is narrow, so please be careful not to disturb those around you when taking photos.
