What is Nakasei Green Park?
Nakasei Green Park, located in Nakasei Northern Science City in TsuCity, is a park with playground equipment, athletics, and a vast lawn area.
The park is one of the largest in TsuCity in terms of size and number of playground equipment and athletic facilities, and is a very popular park that is crowded with people even on weekdays.
Dogs are allowed in the park, so it's very popular with dogs!
There is a spacious lawn area and a walking course, so you can enjoy a walk with peace of mind.
*When taking your dog for a walk, keep him on a leash and don't forget to clean up after his poop.
Renewal on April 1, 2023!
In previous user surveys of Nakasei Green Park, we received comments such as ``I would be happy if I could eat there'' and ``I would like some shade.''
A large-scale renovation was carried out to reflect that opinion, and the following areas were newly established.
- Tsu Hatch, a cafe where you can discover the best parts of TsuCity
- Park Center (Counter)
- dog run
- BBQ area
- lawn sledding slope
- sunshade space
- event space
- kitchen car area
All of them are located near the first parking lot, so they are easily accessible.
In this article, we will introduce the highlights and prices of the new area in detail.
Explaining the new area!
We will provide a detailed explanation with photos of the new area that appeared in the renewal on April 1, 2023.
*The photo was taken on April 3, 2023.
Tsu Hatch, a cafe where you can discover the best parts of TsuCity
A new cafe, ``Tsuhatch'', has been opened just a short walk from the first parking lot.
This cafe offers a menu jointly developed with livestock farmers in TsuCity, based on the concept of ``Discover what's great about TsuCity City!''
The interior of the restaurant has a modern Japanese atmosphere, with one sofa seat and four table seats.
All seats are located near the window, and comfortable light pours in from the large glass windows.
We also have a full menu that you can take out, so you can enjoy a picnic in the park.
Introducing a selection of Tsuhatch's carefully selected menu items!
*All menus introduced in this article are available for takeout.
*Prices include tax and are as of April 3, 2023.
Pizza grilled tomato 800 yen
The first thing we'll introduce is the "Pizza Grilled Tomato," which has been extremely popular since the first day it opened.
The thick pizza dough is baked to a golden brown, giving it the feel of an authentic pizza.
As expected, the pizza dough is kneaded by hand after receiving your order, then baked in a pizza oven and served to you on the spot.
Furthermore, the pizza is made with local ingredients, such as using tomatoes from Asai Farm in TsuCity and flour from Mie Prefecture for the pizza dough.
The taste is... The sweetness of the tomatoes fills your mouth, and the moist texture of the pizza dough is irresistibly delicious!
In fact, this pizza dough has been aged for 72 hours and is so flavorful that you can't help but reach for it!
Tomatoes have a sugar content of over 10 degrees, so you'll be surprised at how sweet they are (typical tomatoes have a sugar content of 4 to 6 degrees).
I was impressed by the taste of the authentic pizza, just like what you would get at an Italian restaurant.
Gyoza (6 pieces) 500 yen
The next menu we will introduce is "Gyoza".
This dish is made with a strong focus on ingredients, such as using wheat from Mie Prefecture for the skin and plenty of fresh pork and Chinese cabbage from Onishi Chikusan TsuCity for the toppings.
Additionally, the dumplings are steamed and served after receiving your order using a special gyoza machine, so they are piping hot and fluffy.
The flavor is... The meat is juicy, the flavor is strong, and the filling is plentiful, so just one gyoza is a satisfying meal!
The skin had a chewy texture, and I was surprised at how high the quality was, rivaling that of an authentic Chinese restaurant.
I think this is a dish that gyoza lovers will not be able to resist, so please give it a try♪
If you want to order a lot, the 18 pieces (1,400 yen) and 24 pieces (1,900 yen) are good deals.
Coffee (Iced/Hot) 420 yen
At Tsu Hatch, we serve coffee from Fuji Coffee, a long-established coffee shop in TsuCity.
Fuji Coffee's coffee is characterized by its rich flavor and aroma, and you can enjoy its deliciousness both iced and hot.
The hot coffee is made by grinding and brewing Fuji Coffee's roasted beans one cup at a time, so you can enjoy the aromatic taste to your heart's content.
When you want to make the most of your time at the park, how about a cup of Tsuhatchi coffee?
Vanilla milk frappe 580 yen
Tsuhatchi's Vanilla Milk Frappe is characterized by its mellow texture and rich milk flavor.
The milk used is ouchiyama Milk, a local milk representative of Mie, and the frappe is filled with the rich aroma and taste of this milk.
On the day of the interview, the temperature was over 20 degrees, but the frappe was refreshing and delicious!
We also recommend the soft serve ice cream (350 yen) made with ouchiyama milk.
Park Center (Counter)
A new park center has been built near Parking Lot 1 and serves as a reception desk for paid facilities.
This is where we accept applications and reservations for the use of the dog run, barbecue area, and lawn sledding slope, as well as payment of fees.
We also offer rental equipment such as barbecue equipment and outdoor chairs.
For more information, please see "Usage Fees" on the Nakasei Green Park official website.
dog run
New dog runs for large dogs and small and medium-sized dogs have been added with this renovation.
The entrance to the dog run is double-walled to prevent dogs from escaping.
You can take your dog off-leash inside the dog run, and you can comfortably walk around on the spacious natural grass.
Additionally, there is a fence between the large dog area and the small and medium dog area, creating a safe environment.
Additionally, the dog run for large dogs is equipped with a dog toilet and dog shower.
I think it is extremely valuable to have an environment where even large dogs can enjoy a dog run in a safe, secure, and spacious environment.

The fee for using the dog run varies depending on whether you live in the city or outside the city, and the usage hours are from 8:30 to 17:30.

BBQ area
A new barbecue area has been built near the first parking lot, and there are two "medium booths" that can accommodate up to 8 people and three "small booths" that can accommodate up to 4 people.
The exterior of the booth is designed to be surrounded by a wooden fence, creating a space similar to a semi-private room.
Only charcoal equipment for barbecues and gas equipment for outdoor use may be used in the booth, but direct fires or bonfires on the ground are prohibited.
There are some other prohibited items, so please see the ``Terms of Use'' on the Nakasei Green Park official website for details.
There are no trash cans in the area, but there is a place where you can dispose of charcoal.
Please do not throw away any trash other than charcoal here; take it home and dispose of it yourself.

Fees for using the barbecue area vary depending on the size of the booth and the length of time you use it, and residents of TsuCity will receive a discount.

Reservations for the barbecue area are accepted from 90 days in advance, and can be made using the following methods.
① Reservations from the website (reservation system)

③ Book reservations by fax, email, or mail
*Reservations by phone are not possible.
If you make a reservation at the Park Center (counter), you can use the booth on the same day if there is space.
For details, please see "How to use the facility" on the Nakasei Green Park official website.
lawn sledding slope
A new park facility created during this renovation is the "turf sledding slope."
There is a sloping slope covered with artificial grass, and you can enjoy sledding down it.
The fee is 100 yen per person, and the usage hours are 8:30 to 17:30.Payment must be made in advance at the park center (counter) on the day of use.
Free sled rentals are available at the Park Center (counter) on a first-come, first-served basis.
For precautions and prohibitions on the lawn sledding slope, please see the ``Terms of Use'' on the official Nakasei Green Park website.
The grass sledding slope has two slopes, so you can enjoy the different speeds.
The high slopes give you a lot of speed, so it's safe to use a type of sled that can fit your body, like a rental sled.
I actually tried skiing, and the great view and the exhilarating speed were so much fun that I wanted to repeat it over and over again♪
sunshade space
A new outdoor rest facility called ``Awning Space'' has been established near Parking Lot 1.
This space is covered and spacious so you can stay comfortably out of the sun.
Additionally, the floor is asphalt, making it a comfortable environment to lay out leisure sheets.
At the time of our interview, it was crowded with families enjoying picnics and eating lunch boxes.
event space
The new ``event space'' created during this renovation is a spacious lawn area, with viewing seats surrounding the lawn.
There is a circular space in the center of the event space that can be used as a stage.
When no events are being held, it can be used as a multipurpose plaza, where you can sit in the audience seats and relax, or take a walk around the lawn area.
If you wish to use the facility exclusively, please contact the Park Center (counter).
*For inquiries, please see "Contact Us" on the Nakase Green Park official website.
Where is the parking lot/toilet?
Nakasei Green Park has two free parking lots with a total of 441 parking spaces.
There are restrooms in both parking lots, and there are a total of 5 restrooms located throughout the park.
Parking lot 1 (215 spaces)
Parking Lot 1 is the most frequently used parking lot as it is located near the playground equipment area.
When I visited for an interview on a weekday afternoon, it was nearly full.
If this parking lot is full, please use the second parking lot introduced below.
Parking lot 2 (226 spaces)
The second parking lot has 71 parking spaces on the north side and 155 spaces on the south side.
Although it is located a little far from the playground equipment square, it is a parking lot near the multipurpose plaza, which is popular as a walking course, and the observation hill.
Play equipment and facilities at Nakasei Green Park
Here, we will introduce the facilities and play equipment of Nakasei Green Park that existed before the renewal.
View Hill
Miharashi no Oka is a small hill that overlooks the entire park.
You can also relax while sitting on the bench in the arbor, so you can feel refreshed while feeling the gentle breeze.
The nearest parking lot is Parking Lot 2, which is a short walk away.
Multipurpose plaza
The multipurpose plaza is a vast lawn with a promenade surrounding it.
The day of the interview was in early April, but there were countless cherry blossoms in full bloom along the promenade.
Dogs are allowed on the lawn, so you can enjoy a walk on a leash.
If you would like to take your dog for an off-leash walk, please use the newly built dog run.
The nearest parking lot to the multipurpose plaza is Parking Lot 2, which is about a few minutes walk away.
Retention pond
The regulating pond is located near the entrance of Nakasei Green Park, and there is a promenade around the pond.
In spring, countless cherry blossoms bloom along the promenade, making it a great spot to enjoy cherry blossom viewing.
What's more, there is an astonishing scenery that can only be seen during the cherry blossom season. Here is the view ↓
You can see the beautiful scenery reflected in the water, which is reminiscent of Bolivia's Salar de Uyuni.
The rows of cherry blossom trees along the promenade are reflected in the water, and you'll be mesmerized by the picturesque beauty.
This photo was taken on April 3, 2023, the day of the interview, and it was a spectacular view that I came across by chance.
If there is a strong wind, the water surface will shake and the reflection will not look beautiful, so the best time to take photos is when the wind is light.
Kokage Square
Kokage Hiroba is a grassy plaza located near the first parking lot, which has a gentle hill.
A large camphor tree stands here, and on the day of the interview, it was crowded with families enjoying picnics and taking commemorative photos under the tree.
playground equipment square
The playground equipment area at Nakasei Green Park has a wide variety of equipment, including large athletic equipment and combination equipment.
Suku Suku Land, located just a short walk from Parking Lot 1, has play equipment exclusively for infants (1-3 years old).
There are restrooms and a cafe nearby, so it's a convenient environment for families with small children.
There is also a hammock-shaped swing equipment next to Sukusuku Land.
This swing allows you to swing while sitting in a hammock, so there is less strain on your body and you can enjoy it more safely.
How about making your child's debut on the swing?
There is also online play equipment, so children who want to move their bodies a lot may be very happy.
The photo shows the large net play equipment, and right next to it there is also net play equipment for young children.
Each playground equipment has a sign indicating the target age group and the age group that must be accompanied by a guardian, so be sure to read them carefully before using them.
For example, children aged 3 to 6 must be accompanied by a guardian on this long slide.
The signs on this play equipment also include precautions such as ``Wear shoes that won't slip off'' and ``Do not wear socks with strings attached,'' so if you read them carefully, you can reduce the risk of injury.
What did you think
We have provided information on the new area, play equipment, and facilities at Nakasei Green Park.
With this renovation, we have added a new cafe called ``Tsuhatch'' which is also open for takeout, making it a comfortable place to spend long hours.
In addition, we have added new barbecue facilities, a lawn sledding slope, and a dog run, which expands the range of ways to play and makes the park even more convenient.
We believe that various events will be held in the newly established event space, so please be sure to check the official website of Nakasei Green Park for the latest event information.
