Is it true that VISON is the worst/not so good? Verify reviews

VISON is a place where you can spend the whole day, with delicious gourmet restaurants, experience facilities, and accommodations. However, you can sometimes find reviews online that say things like, "It's terrible, it's not good, it's boring." I verified whether that is true.

What is VISON?

VISON is a commercial resort facility located in TakiTown, Mie Prefecture, and is one of the largest in Japan.

The grounds, which are the size of 24 Tokyo Domes (119ha), have various areas where you can enjoy gourmet food, experience facilities, hot springs, and lodging, so you can spend the whole day there.

If you use the expressway, it is easily accessible from IseJingu by car in about 20 minutes, so we recommend enjoying VISON along with a visit to Ise Shrine.

There are plenty of cafes and lodging facilities where you can spend time with your dog, and VISON 's appeal is that you can enjoy the resort feeling with your dog.

VISON is full of enjoyable elements, but if you search for "VISON" on Google, you may come across reviews such as "worst, not so good, boring."

If you look into the details of the review...👇

  • ① Is it too big to move around?
  • ② Are all prices high?
  • ③ Is the parking fee expensive?
  • ④ Is it inconvenient to move around with a stroller?
  • ⑤ Is the exit often congested?
  • ⑥ Is it difficult to spend time with your pet?

There were many reviews like this.

Therefore, I would like to introduce the results of verifying the reviews with ``Fugamaru-chan'', his partner ``Cham'', and their dog ``Lian'', who have been visiting VISON many times since its opening.

[Verification 1] Is it too spacious to move around?

VISON is a vast facility with a site area the size of 24 Tokyo Domes (119ha).

When moving around each area on foot, some people say they get tired of walking because of the size of the area.

Actually... you can move between parking lots freely!

VISON 's parking lots are scattered throughout each area, but you are free to move between them.

You may be wondering, "Isn't there a fee for each parking lot?", but since you pay before you leave, the fee is the same no matter which parking lot you use.

For example, if you want to go from the direct farm market Marche Vison to Aniterasu, it takes 20 minutes on foot, but it only takes 2 minutes by car.

Marche Vison and Aniterasu have parking lots adjacent to each other, so it's easier to get around by car.

Maps (Google Maps) of each parking lot are as follows.

📍Parking lots adjacent to each area

🚗 P1 *Near Marche Vison
🚗 P2 *Near Marche Visson
🚗 P3 *Near Sweets Village
🚗 P8 *Near Honsoyu (hot bath facility)

📍 Other parking lots

🚗 P6 Large parking lot (only when crowded)
🚗 P6 Large parking lot (Ani Terrace users can also park there)
🚗Exclusive parking for hotel guests
🚗Dedicated parking lot for Hatago guests
🚗Kiku area parking lot
🚗White House Village Buggy Park private parking lot
🚗Farm area parking lot
🚗Honzo Research Institute Parking Lot

Please note that each parking lot has a limited number of spaces, so on days when congestion is expected such as Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, some parking lots may be full.

Move comfortably with electric mobility!

VISON rents electric kick scooters and electric bikes, allowing you to move around the vast grounds comfortably.

Electric bikes can be ridden on the roads within the premises, so you can easily move around even if each parking lot is full.

Also, there are electric bike ports scattered throughout the premises, so you can depart and return from any port, which is convenient!

List of port locations

🏍 P1 Parking Port
🏍 P3 Parking Port
🏍 San Sebastian Street Port
🏍 Large parking lot (P6) port
🏍 P8 Parking Port

When temporarily parking your bicycle, you can park it anywhere in VISON in a safe place other than the port.

For electric bike prices and details, please visit VISON official website "GO GO! SHARE".

Electric bikes require a driver's license, but electric kick scooters can be ridden without a license.

Although you cannot ride on the road, this bike has a dedicated mobility road, so it offers the same comfort as an electric bike.

It felt exhilarating to be able to drive on a road surrounded by the sky and greenery, and to be able to reach speeds of up to 20km/h ♫

Electric kick scooters are available for rent from the cafe ``raf'' on San Sebastian Street, and the cost is 1,500 yen for 30 minutes and 2,000 yen for 1 hour. (As of August 2023)

Rental hours are from 12:30pm to 6:30pm, and reception closes at 6pm.

*Business hours vary depending on sunset time, so please contact raf (070-7570-3556).
*Rental may not be available during rainy weather, stormy weather, or maintenance.

For details, please visit VISON official website "raf".

Verification result: ``Moving by car or electric mobility is easy.''

VISON has parking lots in each area, and you can move between parking lots freely, so it's easy to move around by car.

This is a unique benefit of a system that allows you to pay the parking fee when you return home.

If you use an electric bike or electric kick scooter, you will be able to move around the premises more comfortably than by car, so I think you will be able to move around the premises more comfortably.

[Verification 2] Are all prices high?

When shopping or enjoying gourmet food at VISON, I often see reviews on the internet saying that the prices are high.

Prices do tend to be a little higher compared to regular stores, though.

  • There are things that you can only buy and eat here.
  • Good atmosphere and comfortable atmosphere
  • Enjoy a wide variety of delicious gourmet food at various shops

There are many benefits that can only be found in one of Japan's largest resort facilities.

You can enjoy chef's cooking for 700 yen per item.

If you want to enjoy gourmet food at an affordable price, we recommend AT CHEF MUSEUM.

At this facility that opened in July 2023, you can enjoy dishes prepared by Michelin-starred chefs for 700 yen per item.

This facility is located in the Wavison area, and the place that used to be a dining hall has been renovated and opened.

You buy one ticket for 700 yen at the time of admission, but if you buy 3 tickets, it costs 2,000 yen, which is a 100 yen discount.

There are many table seats in the center of the facility, and 18 shops are lined up around this food booth.

Each booth has a number from 1 to 18 in front of the store name, and each ticket can be exchanged for one item.

I will introduce some of the foods that I actually ate.

02.Mont St. Clair - Brûlée crepe with seasonal fruits

You can eat sweets produced by pastry chef Hirohiro Tsujiguchi, who is famous for the TBS TV program "Job Tune."

The location was ``02.Mont St. Clair'', where I was able to enjoy ``Brûlée Crepe with Seasonal Fruits''.

The crepe dough has a chewy and moist texture, and contains plenty of whipped cream and homemade custard cream 😍

Homemade custard cream is fragrant and caramelized and topped with seasonal fruits.

Since it was August this time, it was topped with ``white peaches from Mie Prefecture'', and the juicy peach taste and the creamy taste went perfectly together and was delicious ♫

07.Jika [Itsuka] - Tandan noodles

07. Jika [Itsuka] is a place where you can eat tandan noodles produced by chef Ryosuke Tamura, who has been awarded one star in the Michelin Guide Tokyo for three years in a row.

The chewy flat noodles go well with the rich white sesame soup, making this a dish that you can enjoy with its deep flavor and aroma!

The soup contains special chili oil, but it has a mild spiciness so it's very easy to drink ♫

I was so satisfied with the addictive taste that I wanted to drink it down to the last drop.

14. Hakkoku - Tuna yukke hand roll

``14. Hakkoku'' is a place where you can eat dishes produced by Hiroyuki Sato, who opened the restaurant ``Hakkoku,'' which became a hot topic for its unique red vinegar sushi rice.

Here you can enjoy ``tuna yukke hand roll''.

  • 🌾 Rice from Mie Prefecture
  • 🐟 Raw tuna from “𦚰口水san” available at VISON
  • ◾ Norimomo seaweed available at VISON
  • 🍣 Red vinegar sushi made with aged red vinegar

This is a dish that combines carefully selected ingredients with our unique red vinegar shari.

As for the taste...the thickly cut tuna was extremely filling, and the sweet and sour red vinegar sushi rice brought out the deliciousness of the ingredients♫

Norimomo's seaweed has a crispy texture and a deep flavor that concentrates the flavor of the ocean.

Norimomo is a new brand launched by Fukui, a seaweed shop in KuwanaCity, Mie Prefecture, and is a store with a wide range of seaweed, from affordable seaweed to branded seaweed from Kuwana and Ise-Shima.

This shop is located in the same "Wavison area" as AT CHEF MUSEUM, so please visit them together.

I love Norimomo's seaweed so much that I buy it as a souvenir every time I go to VISON.

For more information on AT CHEF MUSEUM and food reviews of all products, please see the article written by Mie Travel Ambassador "RISA".

Verification result: ``There are some affordable gourmet foods''

In this article, we introduced "AT CHEF MUSEUM", but Marchévison and San Sebastian Street are also full of affordable gourmet food and gourmet food while walking.

[Verification 3] Is the parking fee expensive?

There is a fee for the parking lot at VISON, but I have seen reviews on the internet saying that the parking fee is expensive.

Parking fee is 200 yen for 60 minutes all day long, but you can save money with the following service fees.

① 3 hours free with purchases of 2,000 yen or more
② 6 hours free for purchases of 3,000 yen or more
③ If you use Honzoyu, you can get 2 hours free if you spend less than 1,000 yen.
④ If you use the cafe, you can get 1 hour free if you spend less than 1,000 yen (Target stores: Sarutahiko Coffee, HAPPA STAND, cafe Tomiyama)
⑤ If you are staying at a hotel, there is no parking fee.
⑥ Parking fee for motorcycles is free.

Regarding ① and ②, you will receive a service coupon if the purchase amount at each store exceeds 2,000 yen or 3,000 yen.

You can add up the receipts issued by each store, so if you have a receipt of 2,000 yen or more and a receipt of 1,000 yen or more, you can get a 6-hour free service ticket.

As an example of a purchase of 3,000 yen or more 👇

🎟Purchase a set of 3 tickets (2,000 yen) at “At Chef Museum”
◾Purchase seaweed from Mie Prefecture for 1,200 yen or more at “Norimomo”

For a total of 3,200 yen, you can get a 6-hour free service ticket in front of the cash register.

The parking fee is 1,200 yen for 6 hours, so it's a pretty great service ticket ♫

Verification result: ``Service tickets save you money on parking fees.''

If you make a purchase of 2,000 yen to 3,000 yen or more at VISON, you will receive a free parking ticket for 3 to 6 hours, so take advantage of this ♫

Parking for motorcycles is free, so we recommend visiting VISON on a tour.

Hotel guests are also happy to know that parking is free.

It is convenient to remember that customers of Sarutahiko Coffee, HAPPA STAND, and cafe Tomiyama will get 1 hour free even if their purchase amount is less than 1,000 yen.

[Verification 4] Is it inconvenient to move around with a stroller?

I've seen reviews online saying, ` VISON has a lot of stairs, so it's inconvenient to move around with a stroller.''

It is true that there are some stairs inside VISON, but there are slopes in various places.

The photo above shows the slope that connects the Wavison area to San Sebastian Street, and it was possible to navigate it even with a stroller.

There are parking lots adjacent to each area within VISON, so if you have a long walk, we recommend traveling by car.

Verification result: “Use slopes and car transportation”

There are slopes in each area, so it was easy to navigate even with a stroller.

Please note that the passage from Honzoyu to San Sebastian Street requires stairs or escalators, so if you are traveling with a stroller or wheelchair, it is safer to travel by car.

[Verification 5] Are there often traffic jams at the exit?

I've seen reviews online saying, ``When I returned from VISON, there was a lot of traffic at the exit.''

When VISON first opened, I also encountered traffic jams, but in April 2023, a dedicated lane for the high-speed interchange will be added!

② in the image above is the exclusive lane for express interchange users.

Before the expansion, there was only one return lane, so traffic jams were likely to occur in the evenings on weekends and holidays.

Currently, the two-lane system has significantly reduced traffic jams on the way home, and there are almost no traffic jams even on weekends and holidays.

Verification results: ``Congestion has almost disappeared with the two-lane system.''

When I visited during Golden Week in 2023 (May 3rd), there was no traffic jam on the way back, so I think the traffic jams have almost disappeared due to the addition of express lanes.

Even if you visited before and had trouble with traffic, I think you can enjoy the current VISON until the evening.

[Verification 6] Is it difficult to spend time with your pet?

I've seen reviews online that say, `` VISON has many asphalt paved roads and gravel roads, and there aren't many stores where you can take your pet.''

I visited with my dog and verified that VISON has grassy areas throughout, so there were places where it was easy for my dog to walk.

It's true that there are asphalt paved roads and gravel roads, but I think it's a good idea to transport your dog in a pet cart during the summer to prevent heatstroke.

There are several stores where you can spend time with your dog, and I love HAPPA STAND.

Since I visited in the summer, I enjoyed some cold tea and shaved ice while spending time with my dog.

The cafe is also air-conditioned, so it is recommended for those who want to enjoy the cafe with their dog in a cool environment.

You may be thinking, ``It's a shame that I can't enter a store that doesn't allow dogs,'' but don't worry.

VISON 's facility ``ani TERRACE'' has a pet hotel where dogs can be temporarily kept.

All rooms at this pet hotel are private rooms, and the prices are as follows.

🐶 Small room
Day trip plan/1 hour 700 yen
Overnight plan/1 night 4,000 yen

🐩Medium room
Day trip plan / 1 hour 800 yen
Overnight plan/1 night 5,000 yen

🐕 Large room
Day trip plan / 1 hour 1,000 yen
Overnight plan/1 night 7,000 yen

We also have an overnight stay plan, so it is recommended for those who are planning to stay at VISON.

By the way, VISON also has pet-friendly rooms and villas, so you can enjoy the resort feeling with your dog.

ani TERRACE also has a large dog run, so you can let your dog play off-leash.

Another point of peace of mind is that the dog run has three areas for small dogs, small and medium-sized dogs, and large dogs.

The area for small and medium-sized dogs and large dogs has a good view, and is a location where you can see the great outdoors of TakiTown.

The dog run usage fees are as follows:

🐕 Price per head (tax included)
・Free entry and exit all day: 1,500 yen
・60 minutes: 1,000 yen

For the 60-minute 1,000 yen plan, if the usage time exceeds 60 minutes, an additional charge of 500 yen will be charged.

In that case, the plan will change to 1,500 yen per day, so you can come and go as you like throughout the day.

Furthermore, ani TERRACE has a free rest space where you can relax with your dog under the roof.

There are table seats here and equipment to secure your dog's leash, so it's the perfect place to take a break with your dog.

There are also stylish photo spots, so we were able to enjoy taking commemorative photos.

To use the pet hotel/dog run, you will need to register as a member in advance, so please see the ani TERRACE official website for details.

*ani TERRACE is a facility that mainly protects and adopts dogs and cats, and you can see the daily life and status of rescued animals on ani TERRACE's official Instagram.

Verification results: ``A perfect environment to spend time with your dog!''

There is a dog-friendly cafe, a pet hotel, a dog run, and a free rest area, all in an environment that makes it easy to spend time with your dog.

When I go to Visson, I always see people with dogs, so meeting different breeds of dogs may be one of the fun things to do.

There are no trash cans to dispose of your droppings on the premises, so be sure to take your droppings home with you.

Also, be sure to wear dog diapers and etiquette wear to prevent markings.

What did you think

Please be aware that if you just take online reviews at face value, you may not be able to know about VISON 's advantageous services and well-developed environment.

This article has been thoroughly explained and verified by me, a self-proclaimed `` VISON connoisseur'' who has visited VISON many times, so I believe I have been able to provide you with reliable information based on my experience.

Please come and visit VISON, where you can enjoy the experience unique to Japan's largest resort facility.

Mie Kanko has published an article that explains the charm of VISON, so please take a look.
