Model course introduction

This is what the model course looks like this time. The plan is designed to be enjoyed by both children and adults.

First of all, let me tell you that this is a plan that allows you to fully enjoy VISON 's concept of"healing, food, and knowledge,"and there will also be trial fees, so I'd really like to save money on a trip with VISON! It may not be suitable for you. However, the experience is unique to VISON, so it is sure to be memorable♪

10:00~ Eat while walking around Shinbeiya

There are many restaurants within VISON where you can eat while walking, but the first one we will introduce is Shinbeiya located in the Marche Vison area.

Shinbeiya is a store that sells fish paste and fried tempura. Since its founding in 1882, the restaurant has maintained its long-established taste by using fresh ingredients and time-honoured manufacturing methods, allowing you to enjoy the authentic taste. The crispy shrimp tempura, which has been extremely popular since it was introduced in May 2022, is not only delicious but also looks great on SNS♪

Shrimp crispy tempura (600 yen including tax)

Shrimp Crispy Tempura (600 yen) uses a luxurious black tiger shrimp! You can eat the whole shrimp with the tail attached, and the white fish paste is wrapped around the shrimp. Are you curious about the identity of those thin noodle-like things wrapped around the top? This is calledKadayuf. The main ingredients are flour and water, and the dough that originates from Turkey and Greece is also called "angel's hair."

The freshly fried crispy tempura is sprinkled with rock salt for a crispy outside! The shrimp and white fish paste went well together, and the inside was fluffy. If you would like to reduce the salty taste, please ask the staff.

We recommend eating at a table near Shinbeiya, as the kadayuf will fall with every bite! Even adults spill food, so even if your child spills food, you should take it lightly.

The dining space above Shinbeiya is actually a little-known secret (I didn't even notice until the staff told me about it!), and even though it was the first day of a three-day weekend, I was able to reserve it for myself and enjoy it in a relaxed manner.

Cheese stick (350 yen including tax)

Speaking of eating while walking...cheese sticks (350 yen)! There's plenty of melty cheese inside. The cheese will be very hot when it's freshly fried, so be careful not to get burned. Even the children ate it all up easily♪

There are also other kid-friendly menu items such as octopus sticks (350 yen), potato butter tempura (400 yen), and torikara tempura (350 yen for a set of 3). Shinbeiya's nerimono uses 100% local fish from the Kumano Sea and does not contain any preservatives, so you can rest assured.

This is a must for VISON with kids! To Kiond

10:30~ This is a must for VISON with kids! To kiond

Now, let's head to kiond, which is essential when traveling with VISON children. kiond is located in the wood growing area.

There is also a parking lot (parking lot 4) in front of kiond. It is not well known, but you can freely come and go in the parking lot inside VISON used the 4th parking lot in front of kiond, but it is near Marche Vison where Shinbeiya is located. You can park your car at Parking Lot 2 first, enjoy eating around, and then drive to Parking Lot 4. I'll explain the parking system in more detail later.

By the way, if you want to go back and forth between Marche Vison and the Kiiku area where Kiond is located, the shortcut is to use the lower road instead of crossing Mahoro Bridge! When heading towards Kiond from Marchévisson, pass by Sweets Village and Sarutahiko Coffee without crossing the bridge, cross the crosswalk in front of the stylish white building Gallery Hakuhaku, and go up the hill to Kiond. Arrive.

kiond is an experience-based facility with the theme of "trees and forests." There are many programs that both adults and children can enjoy, such as wood workshops, forest activities, a playground made of wood, a library cafe where you can read specialized books and picture books about trees and forests, and fairs.

People who are thinking, "I heard that you can't enjoy VISON with children." or "Where should I go to VISON with kids?" Let's go to kiond first. (In fact, it's so much fun that the kids might not leave here...LOL)

Kino Park is a warm playground filled with the scent of wood. We use plenty of domestic cedar and Owase cypress for the play equipment.

When I tell my daughter that I'm going to VISON to play, she says, ``Yay! I can go to Kiond♪'' and in my child's head, it's like VISON = playing at Kiond. lol

There are so many rare wooden toys that even parents can't help but fall in love with them.

Shoes are taken off and left in the shoe box at the entrance, so even children who are crawling or toddlers can play to their heart's content. To allow children to feel the warmth of the wood on their skin, and to prevent them from slipping and injuring themselves, children Please take off your socks and play.

VISON has many shops lined up outdoors, and there are almost no areas where shoes are prohibited. In that case, the baby usually ends up in a stroller or a carrier, but it's nice to have a place where they can move their bodies freely♪ There was also a collection box for toys that got dirty with drool.

There is also an impressive jungle gym called "Mockingham" that is integrated into the building. You can move your body freely♪ The inside is like a maze, and there is also a slide.

It also has a skeleton part, so you can see your child playing innocently from below. It's see-through, so be careful if your child is wearing a skirt!

You can also pretend play such as playing house♪

Click here for the entrance fees.

Admission fees
Children: 600 yen for the first 30 minutes, 100 yen for every additional 10 minutes, free pass (weekdays only) 1,100 yen
Parent: 600 yen per person
*Can be used by children under 150 cm and elementary school age and younger
*Must be accompanied by a guardian over 18 years old
*Children under 1 year old can enter for free if they have siblings.

There is also a library cafe inside kiond where you can enjoy coffee and reading at the same time. For coffee, you can enjoy kiond's original blend using beans from Sarutahiko Coffee, which is also located inside VISON. While dad and kids are playing at Kino Park, mom can take a break and enjoy shopping on her own inside VISON.

Although eating and drinking is not allowed inside Kino Park (drinks in airtight containers such as plastic bottles and tumblers are allowed), you can watch children playing from outside Kino Park while drinking coffee. We took turns and each took a break.

In addition to coffee (400 yen), the menu also includes drinks for children such as cafe latte (470 yen), 100% orange juice, 100% apple juice, and fruit juices (mango and apple) (400 yen each). There were also light snacks on sale such as soft serve ice cream (milk/chocolate/mix) (350 yen), waffles, and limited-time shaved ice.

The library cafe has approximately 1,500 specialized books and picture books related to trees, forests, and the outdoors. After the children finished playing at Kino Park, I couldn't stop asking them to read this.

kiond also has wood workshops, ranging from regular programs that are easy for woodworking beginners and children to participate in, to full-fledged premium programs that even adults will be fascinated by.

What my daughter and her friends previously enjoyed was the premium program"Creating a Clay Town in the Forest."You can take the finished product home and display it, so you can remember the fun experiences you had at VISON by looking at the work ♪ In addition, there is a wooden toy camera, a handmade cypress chopsticks experience, kayaking, and glass sand. There are many fun-looking programs such as art, roasted sweet potato experiences, and forest athletics.

Some programs require advance reservations, so we recommend checking what programs are available in advance.

The multipurpose restroom inside kiond has a diaper changing space (with a diaper disposal area), a children's toilet, and a fitting board. There is also a nursing room (no milk formula), and you can also come with a stroller. (There is a stroller storage area in front of Kino Park). Kiond users can also use free lockers. It is a facility that is friendly not only to children but also to their parents.

12:00~ Enjoy delicious food at AT CHEF MUSEUM

It's time to play a lot and get hungry. Lunch at VISON with my kids. Are you confused about where to go? I want to eat various delicious gourmet foods! But it's nice that it's easy for kids to go too. Such concerns can be solved at AT CHEF MUSEUM.

In July 2023, the dining hall at Wavison will be reopened as AT CHEF MUSEUM. At AT CHEF MUSEUM, you can enjoy gourmet cuisine supervised by seven Michelin-starred chefs and famous chefs from all over the country, all for the unbeatable price of 700 yen! It's great for families with children, as you can easily enjoy gourmet food prepared by chefs from restaurants all over the country that are difficult to reserve without making a reservation.

At CHEF MUSEUM, you pay with a common ticket. Tickets can be purchased at the reception desk at the entrance.

You can borrow a menu table when you enter the facility, but it might be a good idea to think about what you want to eat and how many tickets you need before purchasing. All items can be purchased with a single ticket, and the price is 700 yen. If you purchase 3 sheets, you can purchase it for 2,000 yen, which is a 100 yen discount. Additional tickets can be purchased at any time.

Points to note inside AT CHEF MUSEUM
① There are no restrooms in the building, so it will be smoother if you do it in advance (you can enter and exit as you like)
② There will be no self-serve drinks. Please bring your own drinks or purchase them on site.
③Tickets can be shared
④Tickets distributed in September 2023 are valid until the end of December, and can be used at a later date.

There are many tables lined up inside AT CHEF MUSEUM, and shops are lined up around them, making it look like a food court in a shopping center. First, we reserve a seat and then each person goes to order.

To order, just hand over your ticket at the counter at each store. After placing your order, you will receive a call bell at each store and wait anxiously.

Our family of four ordered two 3-piece tickets (total of 6 items).

The first thing I ordered was

Dandan noodles from ``Itsuka'', shrimp kakiage bowl from ``Roan Atatakami'', fried chicken from ``Yakitori Ichimatsu'', and hand-rolled tuna yukke from ``Hakkoku''. All of these restaurants have earned one star in the Michelin Guide.

For dessert, I had Ise GreenTea air-in-ice citrus from le Sputnik.

Then, I had a shaved ice parfait from "Konbu Yamagobei".

All of them are exquisite, and it's surprising that you can get one dish for just 700 yen. This is the only place where you can enjoy gourmet dishes prepared by famous chefs from all over the country at reasonable prices without the need for reservations.

The minced rice bowl comes in two colors: minced minced chicken from Mie Prefecture, which has mixed reviews, and a mellow fried egg made with soy milk as a secret ingredient. It has a very gentle taste, and even small children can enjoy it♪

For a family of 4, we had 6 dishes (2 of which were desserts), and if you ask us if we're full, we can honestly say we can still eat more! However, there are many other restaurants within VISON, so my family decided to take a break and stop by one of the other restaurants.

If you would like to know more about AT CHEF MUSEUM, please contact me, Mie Travel Ambassador,RISACheck out the article written by. We write food reports on chefs and all products in more detail than anywhere else.

Make miso at Kuranoya, a miso specialty store. The best food education experience

13:00 - Make miso at the miso specialty store "Kuranoya". The best food education experience

Enjoy VISON in the afternoon! Next, we will introduce you to the best food education experience.

``Kuranoya'' in Wavison is a miso specialty store whose main store is in Tokyo's Toyosu Market. VISON sells local miso and related products from all over the country, and is a popular store where you can purchase not only packaged products but also a variety of miso by weight.

There are so many types of miso that I don't know what to order. But you don't have to worry because there is a miso concierge in the store who will ask you what kind of flavor you like and tell you the miso that goes well with the dish you want to use♪ You can choose from about 30 brands of miso, so you'll want to try them out a little at a time to find your favorite! It can be purchased in 100g units.

At Kuranoya, we hold miso preparation experience classes every day where you can have fun learning about miso. This time, my daughter and I participated in the trial class. (My son takes a nap time...) I'll let you know how it goes!

Miso preparation experiences are held twice a day, where you can see, touch, and taste miso to learn more about it.

Miso preparation experience
Holding time: ① 13:00 ~ / ② 15:00 ~ (held every day) About 30 minutes each
How to apply: Apply at the store on a first-come, first-served basis (up to 6 groups)
*Application deadline is 10 minutes before the event
Price: 2,000 yen (tax included)/1 set
Things to bring: Nothing in particular
Age limit: None

It's nice to be able to participate on the day without having to bring anything! It's first-come, first-served, so if you'd like to experience miso making, it's best to go to Kuranoya after arriving at VISON and make a reservation first.

There are no restrooms inside the store, so be sure to do so before your experience. If you have long hair, it is more hygienic and easier to work with it tied up.

There is no age limit, but the children were asked to have the experience with the help of their parents, so we only had one set and I, the parent, helped my daughter. was.

The place to experience it is at the very back of the store. It's glass-walled, so you can see the experience happening from outside. There are 6 tables, and each group is seated at a time. Please wash your hands at the hand washing station in the classroom before the experience begins. After watching a video explaining the basics of miso and how it is made, the staff will guide you through the process, and then you will actually prepare miso by mixing steamed soybeans, rice malt, salt, and seed miso.

First, the soybeans in the bag are crushed until they become a paste (so that the grains are not very noticeable). My daughter stood up naturally and crushed it hard so that she could put all her weight on it. It may take some time for little hands, so parents can help out here too!

Add rice malt, salt, and water, and mash thoroughly. Finally, miso seeds are added to promote fermentation and ripening. Seed miso is basically raw miso. I was also able to taste raw miso♪

Finally, pack the prepared miso into a box and it's done! It's an easy task and takes only about 30 minutes, so even my 5-year-old daughter was able to enjoy the experience. You can take the prepared miso home and store it in the refrigerator or freezer. The time it takes for the miso to be completed varies depending on the temperature on the day of preparation, and when we experienced it in mid-September, it was over 30 degrees Celsius, so it would take about a month to complete the miso. At 20℃, it will take about 4 to 6 months. It takes less time in the summer!

The finished miso weighs 1.4 kg, which is enough to make about 90 cups of miso soup! Even after returning home, you can enjoy watching the miso ripen, sometimes take care of it (if the bag is swollen, the accumulated gas will be released), and you can make miso soup with the miso you made yourself. Don't you think this is the best food education? I'm surprised that you can experience this for only 2,000 yen!

I felt it would be a good idea to make it regularly while taking the aging period into consideration. For now, I can't help but look forward to the day when I can eat the finished product.

It's perfect as a memory of VISON 's trip.

A free bus is definitely a free way to get around the large grounds!

Once the miso preparation experience is over, the next step is to head to Honsoyu (bath). I want to take a bath and take a short break, but my son is still taking a nap. The only way to get to Honsoyu is by escalator, which is a little difficult with a stroller. (You can also use the escalator if you fold up the stroller.) My daughter is also getting tired, and it's a time when I can't imagine holding her in her arms.

In such cases, we recommend using the buses that run within VISON for free!

Although it is not well known, VISON has a free shuttle bus within the facility. There is no particular timetable, so you go to the bus stop whenever you want to use it, and if there is no bus stopping at the bus stop, you call the phone number at the bus stop. (Call charges apply) If you tell them the bus stop where you want to board and get off, they will pick you up and pick you up. I called immediately and the bus arrived within 5-10 minutes.

There are 7 bus stops within the facility. The bus stops are as follows.

① Atelier Vison (Bus Terminal) ② Wood growing area (Kiond, a tree and forest experience facility) ③ San Sebastian Street/Hatago (San Sebastian Street/Accommodation Hatago) ④ Farm area (Farm Restaurant Nouniere/Ani Terrace) ⑤ Honso Area (Honso Research Institute/Café Shop RINNE) ⑥ Honsoyu/Hotel Area (Honsoyu/Hotel) ⑦ Smart Inter Area (Buggy Park)

I used the area from ① Atelier Vison to ⑥ Honso/Hotel area in front of Sarutahiko Coffee.

Our family usually travels by car, so we don't have many opportunities to ride the bus, so the kids seemed really happy♪ Traveling time is also a fun time for the kids!

You can also move between parking lots in VISON with your own car, but if you don't come to VISON by car, this is a service you should definitely know about!

This was very helpful as we were able to put our stroller on the bus and could easily travel to our destination in an air-conditioned bus.

When you get off the bus, there is such a wonderful photo spot in front of the hotel! We recommend taking a photo here as a memento of your trip.

14:00 - Enjoy a relaxing moment at Honsoyu. The sauna will also be newly opened in September 2023!

Mie University and Rohto Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. have collaborated to develop recipes for medicinal herb baths, and use medicinal herbs from the medicinal herb fields in and around the facility to provide a variety of hot springs each season. Yu).

Strollers can be left in front of the facility, but you can also leave them inside the facility (free of charge). You will need to carry the stroller on your back until the reception at Honzoyu, but it is safe to leave it there.

After completing the registration process, hold the QR code at the gate to enter. We also have towel rentals (bath towel 200 yen, towel 100 yen), so even if you suddenly want to take a bath empty-handed, you don't have to worry!

Men's and women's baths at Honsoyu, ``Kouin no Yu'' and ``Suikagami no Yu'' are rotated every day. (The photo is of Suikage no Yu)

There is also an open-air bath, where you can relax and relieve the fatigue of your trip in the midst of nature.

Children who love baths were also very happy.

Please note that children whose diapers are not removed cannot bathe in the bathtub! There is a baby bath, so please use that. There was also a baby cot and a trash can for diapers in the changing room.

“VISON SAUNA”, where you can enjoy Honsoyu with a large wood-burning stove made in Finland and medicinal herbs from the Honso Institute, will be pre-opening from September 16, 2023!

Feel the gentle heat on your skin and feel the scent of medicinal herbs from within. You can enjoy the experience! A large barrel was used as a water bath. It costs 1,000 yen for 90 minutes to use, and you will need to fill in your name and start time at the reception and receive a band to mark you as a sauna user.

It can only be used by junior high school students and above, so I only took a tour this time, but it would be nice if parents could take turns enjoying it.

The rest space, ``Nanajuuni-Kou-ma'', is made up of 72 bamboo trees 7 to 8 meters long that extend all the way to the ceiling, creating an open, relaxing Japanese space. The floor is tatami, so even small children can spend their time freely.

There is no food or drink for sale in the rest area, but there is a cafe that sells drinks and ice cream right outside the gate. Once you leave the gate, you are not allowed to re-enter, but we were told that you can only re-enter if you use the cafe and eat take-out products in the rest area.

The cafe offers herbal blend coffee (450 yen), Yamamura milk (300 yen), fermented fruit and rice malt drinks with soda and water (550 yen), apple juice (300 yen), and The Premium Malts barrel draft (550 yen). yen) etc.

My daughter ate soft serve ice cream (500 yen) after taking a bath. There was also a rest area in front of the cafe, and there were magazines and picture books that you could read freely.

16:00 - Time to stroll around VISON

After relaxing at Honsoyu, take a walk around VISON until dinner time. A kiond fair is also being held at the plaza in front of AT CHEF MUSEUM where I stopped by for lunch.

You can enjoy trapping, target shooting, and smart ball for 500 yen each time. You can buy tickets first and then play.

Great deals here!

If you play at the fair, you will receive a special coupon that can be used at Kiond ♪ You can choose from two types of coupons: 1) Free gift of 1 cup of Kiond blended coffee S size 2) ¥600 per Kino Park guardian → half price. The expiry date is long, so if you live nearby, you can use it again at a later date, but if you're a tourist from afar, you can get a better deal on the same day by playing at the fair first and then moving to the center house where Kino Park is located.

On the day I went, there were also events such as bubble ball (for a fee) and magic tricks.

There is also an outdoor shop called Orange inside VISON. We have a wide range of lineups that will satisfy everyone from beginners to advanced users!

We also sell ``Outdoor Spice Horinishi'' which is famous in the camper world. A special spice created by Mr. Horinishi, Orange's talented manager, over a period of 5 years. Simply sprinkling it on meat or egg dishes will bring out the flavor of the ingredients, making it easy to use not only outdoors but also for everyday home cooking. 17:00 - Taste the exquisite eel dishes of UnagiYondaimeKikukawa eel chef.

The plan to play around with VISON all day is about to reach its climax. For dinner, we went to `` UnagiYondaimeKikukawa'', which is run by an eel wholesaler that has been in business for 90 years.

The restaurant is spacious and has 50 seats, all of which are at tables. There are also children's chairs and a private room in the back, so it's a restaurant that's easy to bring children.

Speaking of UnagiYondaimeKikukawa there is the famous "Ipponju". Being able to enjoy a whole bottle in its natural state is the ultimate in luxury. It costs 4,950 yen and comes with one eel, a small side dish, liver soup, and pickles.

The eel is grilled using two types of in-house brand Bincho charcoal and grilled without steaming, resulting in crispy skin and fluffy flesh. When you take a bite, the fat spreads in your mouth and you can enjoy the exquisite texture.

The sauce was light and matched well with the fatty eel.

Next is Hitsumabushi, which is a specialty of Nagoya. It comes with hitsumabushi, soup, pickles, and condiments for 3,740 yen (tax included). ``Hitsumabushi'', which was born in Aichi like the fourth generation Kikukawa, is full of hearty rice with plenty of finely chopped kabayaki eel! You can enjoy it as is, then add condiments or make it into ochazuke, so you can enjoy it till the end without getting bored.

Children's meals (1,500 yen) are also available. The kids love both eel and tempura, so they enjoyed eating them♪

The eel bowl (980 yen) was the perfect amount for my 3-year-old son ♪ There was a wide range of kids' menus, including everyone's favorite fries (300 yen) and fried chicken (500 yen).

Kids sherbet was an unbelievable price of 100 yen!

At the end of the trip, we had a luxurious meal that left both our stomachs and hearts satisfied.

By the way, I checked with the staff and found that there are 5 restaurants in VISON that have children's menus: Kasaan Pros and Cons, Sugimoto, Nouniere, Ryugin Koko, and UnagiYondaimeKikukawa Ryoginkosho, where I ate there this time. It was about.

About parking lot

Have fun, relax, eat, and enjoy VISON to the fullest! If you stay for a day, you'll probably be concerned about parking fees! When you arrive at VISON there are no gates or ticket machines, so it's hard to notice, but VISON is a gateless paid parking lot. Pay at the payment machine near the parking lot when you get home. You will need to enter your car number at this time, so if you rent a car and don't remember the number, be sure to write it down with a photo or memo! I was surprised to see the car I was riding in displayed on the screen when I entered the number.

The parking fee is 200 yen per hour. However, there is a way to save money!

3 hours free for purchases of 2,000 yen or more on the day. 6 hours free for purchases of 3,000 yen or more. It is possible to add up the receipts from each store, so please collect them at the time of checkout, and when the amount exceeds 3,000 yen, please request a free parking ticket from the VISON where you purchased it. It will break through in no time. lol

*Honzoyu 2 hours free/Cafe (Sarutahiko Coffee, HAPPA STAND, cafe TOMIYAMA) 1 hour free Applies to purchases under 1,000 yen.

*Parking is free for hotel guests.

VISON in the evening is lit up and has a different atmosphere.

VISON at dusk has a very moody atmosphere, unlike during the day.

Enjoy a drink at the bar in a well-lit atmosphere, or finish off your evening with a parfait (night parfait is only available on weekend nights).

Normally I don't get to go out with my kids until this late, but this is the real pleasure of going out♪ Even if I fall asleep in the car on the way home, today is special! I'll divide it up. (I took a bath once during the day, so I thought, ok! lol)

in conclusion

This is long, but thank you for reading to the end. As you can see, VISON is a facility that you can really enjoy with your children.Although it's basically outdoors, on rainy days, you can enjoy it more comfortably by moving around VISON by car or bus.

Please come and visit VISON with your children!

On Instagram (@__risa_4), I post daily places to go with my kids, mainly in Mie Prefecture. Please take a look if you like.

I will continue to post articles about sightseeing in Mie, so please stay tuned!

I'm "RISA", a mother of two who grew up in Shima and lives in Ise. I love going out with my children on the weekends, going to spots in Mie Prefecture that kids can enjoy, taking pictures of the seasonal scenery, and eating delicious food. We are transmitting the charms of Mie Prefecture from a mom's perspective! thank you.
