What kind of city is YokkaichiCity?
YokkaichiCity is located in the northern part of Mie Prefecture and has the largest population in Mie Prefecture, and is one of Japan's leading coastal industrial cities that has flourished around Yokkaichi Port. As introduced at the beginning, the night view of factories in the industrial complex area is famous nationwide.
There is a green promenade in the city center. Within walking distance, there are rows of cherry blossom trees that attract many photographers from inside and outside the prefecture, making it a city rich in nature.
The main stations are Kintetsu Yokkaichi Station and JR Yokkaichi Station, and convenient commercial facilities are located around each station. There are many large parks with lush greenery, such as Hokusei Chuo Park in the northern area of Yokkaichi and Nambu Hillside Park in the southern area. In the western area, you can see the rich nature of rice fields and tea plantations. Spots and factories with beautiful night views are concentrated in the eastern Yokkaichi area. Additionally, quiet residential areas are spread throughout the city.
Furthermore, YokkaichiCity is a historic town that was a post town on Tokaido, and Banko-Yaki-yaki, a traditional industry that has continued since the Edo period, still has many fans. In recent years, the concentration of high-tech industries such as automobiles and semiconductors has progressed, and the city has become one of the world's largest manufacturing bases.
Night view spots (introducing spots that shine)
YokkaichiCity is famous nationwide for the night view of factories in the industrial complex area. However, in addition to the night view of factories, you can also see an overwhelming night view that will take your breath away. In this article, we will introduce some places that are relatively easy to get to by car.
Plato Hotel Yokkaichi|SKY GARDEN
This is the night view of Plato Hotel Yokkaichi, which is introduced in this article, from SKY GARDEN.
On a clear day in winter, you can see faint stars in the sky even with the city lights.
Please come up to the 10th floor of Plato Hotel Yokkaichi. The beautiful collaboration of Yokkaichi's city lights, port lights, and starry sky will leave you speechless.
The text below provides a Google Maps link and how to access it.

Yokkaichi/Inaba Port Line
This is a spot where you can look up at the ``Yokkaichi-Inaba Port Line'', commonly known as ``Dragon Road'', from below. Autumn and winter, when the air is clear, will allow you to take better photos than other seasons, but be sure to take precautions against the cold as you are on the ocean side.
There is no parking lot, but you can park on the street. Rather than going on the road where the photo spot is located, we recommend the side of the wide road west of Toyo Rubber, which is just before the road. We recommend getting there a little early, as many cars will be parked before the photo shoot time. You can set up a tripod at the shooting spot, but you need to be careful as there are passing cars.

Yokkaichi Port Building
If you want to see or take pictures of the night view, take the elevator up to the observation exhibition room "Umiterasu 14" on the 14th floor. In fact, the Yokkaichi Port Building was certified as a ``Japan Night View Heritage Site (Facility-type Night View Heritage Site)'' in 2015.
The overwhelming night view seen from the Yokkaichi Port Building is very beautiful. You can see not only Yokkaichi Port and factories, but also the cityscape of Yokkaichi. Moreover, if the weather is good, you can even see the Suzuka Mountains in the distance! If you want to take pictures of the night view, you can ask the receptionist to borrow blackout curtains with suction cups for free (limited to 5 pictures). You can also cross the ``Yokkaichi-Inaba Port Line'' that I introduced earlier.

In front of Yokkaichi Dome/ KasumigauraPark
Did you know that there is a dome in YokkaichiCity? There is!
It is a large dome with adjacent tennis courts and a baseball field, and many sports tournaments such as tennis, soccer, and American football are held throughout the year.
This Yokkaichi Dome is built on the sea side, so you can clearly see the Yokkaichi Port factory. Therefore, many photographers come to Yokkaichi Dome to take pictures. The dome itself is located within KasumigauraPark and has a parking lot, so you can relax and enjoy taking photos.

Taisho Bridge
Taisho Bridge is popular as one of the best night view spots for factories in YokkaichiCity.
However, I do not take pictures from the bridge, but from the embankment about 100 meters along the river from Taisho Bridge. The night view of the refinery factory on the opposite shore is overwhelmingly impressive. You can also take pictures of the lights reflecting on the surface of the lake, but many fans are fascinated by the view from a telephoto lens, where you can clearly see the rust on the chimney and the intricate handrails and scaffolding.
There is no parking space right next to the shooting location, so please use the parking lot at Hojo Park or Mitaki Park, which is about a 10-minute walk away.

This makes it possible not only for sightseeing but also for long-term business stays.
Introduction of the room
There are Western and Japanese rooms available. The Japanese-style room is 6 tatami mats + 8 tatami mats in size, and is kept very clean and feels spacious even for families. This is the "Japanese-Western style room". The room area is large at 43.9㎡, and the bathroom and toilet are separate, so you can spend a comfortable and relaxing time.
Breakfast/Mie's breakfast
Mie Prefecture, which stretches from north to south, is a treasure trove of ingredients! At the breakfast buffet at Plato Hotel Yokkaichi, in addition to the standard menu, there are also dishes that allow you to feel the climate of Mie Prefecture. We also recommend the ``Kuwana Mochi Wheat Pancakes,'' which won a prize in an ingredient contest and are known for their chewy texture. This is an experience-based breakfast where you can bake the size and thickness to suit your tastes. Furthermore, the menu changes with the seasons, and the way you enjoy it will also change depending on the time of year you stay.
The limited-time menu from January 2024 will use dried fish and bonito flakes from ``Ise Shima Yamafuji''.
Furthermore, depending on the time of day you enjoy your breakfast, you can even witness the beautiful sunrise before sunrise!
Restaurant introduction
There are a variety of dining options available, from Japanese restaurants where you can enjoy dishes made with seasonal ingredients while looking out at the Japanese garden, to restaurants that focus on Southern Italian cuisine that even one person can casually enjoy.
Particularly interesting and fun is the part called ``The Counter.'' This is Mie Prefecture's first rental store-style restaurant, and various stores open every season. The style makes it easy for even those who have just started a business to own their own shop, so if you are looking to start a business in the food and beverage business, this is a space that you can enjoy even if you just come here to study!

Main sightseeing spots in YokkaichiCity
If you come to YokkaichiCity for sightseeing, you should not miss this place! I would like to introduce some spots that I would like to recommend.
Nanbu Kyuryo Park
This is the city's largest comprehensive park, taking advantage of the hilly area in the southern part of YokkaichiCity. It is divided into north zone and south zone.
In the north zone, there is a large lawn area with a lot of play equipment that even elementary school students and other small children can play with and move their bodies to their heart's content.
In the south zone, there is a small zoo where you can touch small animals such as sheep, goats, and rabbits. This small zoo is adjacent to a children's play area, creating an environment rich in nature that stimulates the curiosity of children who love animals and insects.

You can enjoy the night view all year round, but I think it's even more enjoyable in the fall and winter when the air is clear.
