I went to hajikami Terrace! Detailed information on popular souvenirs, gourmet food, and surrounding information!

Opened in 2015, this PA has a stylish exterior made from Owase Hinoki. The souvenir corner is full of the charm of HigashiKishu, and there are also cute items that look great on SNS! Take a break at Cafe Resto, where fresh fish is delivered daily.

"hajikami Terrace" is located along the Kisei Expressway, which has a free section from Kii nagashima IC.

It is one of the newer parking areas in Mie Prefecture, having opened in 2015 only a few years ago. It features a chic exterior that combines the navy exterior walls with Owase Hinoki, a local specialty, giving it a somewhat modern feel.

KihokuTown is also known for its beautiful scenery of the ocean, mountains, and rivers, and many people come here for the exhilarating touring experience of riding through nature. hajikami Terrace is a two-wheeler-only facility with a roof that is friendly to such riders. There is also a parking lot.

It's possible to charge electric cars, and the restrooms have diaper-changing seats and restrooms for people with disabilities, and what surprised me was that all the women's restrooms had baby lockers!

When moms go to the bathroom with their small children, this makes them feel safe.
The restrooms themselves were clean, and when I spoke to the cleaning staff who happened to be in the restrooms at the time, they smiled and said, ``They clean with the people who use them in mind.''

At the entrance, we were greeted by a large Kihoku-kun, KihokuTown 's mascot character!

``Kihokuniya'' on hajikami Terrace is a specialty product shop named with the hope that people will feel closer to KihokuTown, which means ``kihoku'' and ``near.''
Special products from KihokuTown, OwaseCity, KumanoCity and other areas of HigashiKishu are lined up here and there.

The first thing you notice when you enter is the seafood corner, which sells dried fish and fresh fish.
In particular, the dried fish section has a wide variety of products, including ``round dried saury,'' ``mirin-dried mackerel,'' and even ``moray eel'' and ``sunfish.'' You'll be hard-pressed to decide what to buy.

What surprised me was “Karasumi” for 9,685 yen! The owner of Kappo no Yado Misuzu, an inn in KihokuTown, personally goes fishing and prepares each item with great care, making it an exquisite dish.
It's large and has a shiny golden color that gives it a luxurious feel! It had an outstanding presence in the sales floor.

It was winter when I visited, and it was the season for mandarin oranges, so there were many citrus fruits that are local specialties from KihokuTown, KumanoCity, and MihamaTown Town. The new shelf!
This is a corner with processed citrus products. Among the many products available, including tangerine juice, we would like to introduce one that caught our attention because of its cute appearance.

This is ``Maru Mikan Compote'' for 970 yen for 5 pieces. Peeled Satsuma mandarin oranges are made into compote and bottled.
The area around the mandarin oranges looks like jelly, and the cologne and small mandarin oranges are cute and look great on social media! It lasts longer than fresh fruit, and would make a great souvenir.

In addition, jelly "Natsumi" and "Narumi" with cute packaging are 330 yen each. ``Natsumi'' uses Amanatsu mandarin oranges, and ``Narumi'' uses Satsuma mandarin oranges, and is a fun jelly with juicy fruit juice and a chewy pulp texture.
It's great that you can chew it with one hand, so you can eat it right after you buy it.

In addition, we also have a wide variety of sweets.
This is the dorayaki "hajikami" from KihokuTown for 150 yen each. They are made with sweet bean paste sandwiched between moist dough and each piece is carefully hand-baked.
The water they use to make it is from the Choshi River in KihokuTown, which is famous for being the clearest stream in Japan! Since you can buy them individually, they are also popular as souvenirs to give away. A box of 5 pieces costs 850 yen.

Lastly, we were told about a new product that they have started handling!
These roll cakes, cheesecakes, and financiers are made using the sake lees of the famous sake ``Zaku'' from SuzukaCity 's brewery ``Shimizu Seizaburo Shoten,'' which was selected as the toasting drink and accompaniment drink at the 2016 IseShimaSummit-Shima Summit. The mellow "saku" flavor spreads softly in your mouth.
It's a product created by a confectionery shop in KumanoCity called Mon image, and it's sure to please both sweets and alcohol lovers.

"Made" cheesecake 1,620 yen
“Saku” roll cake 1296 yen
"Saku" Financier 972 yen for 5 pieces

Next, let's go to Tanemaki Gonpei Cafe Rest.
This is a restaurant where you can enjoy a menu made with ingredients from Mie Prefecture. Owase Hinoki is used for the pillars, beams, tables, and chairs, giving the space a warm, wooden feel. There is plenty of space between the seats, giving it a luxurious feel. There is also terrace seating outside.

While I was intrigued by the Mie Prefecture-produced ``Nishikisodori'' and ``Sakura Pork,'' I ordered the most popular ``Kihokuniya-don'' (1,080 yen)!
``Kihokuniya-don'' is a seafood bowl topped with sashimi of tuna, sea bream, and amberjack, and is a popular menu item that is often ordered over 100 times a day. Sea bream and amberjack are apparently brought in fresh every day from the market in Kii-nagashima, KihokuTown, which is known as the "fish town."
It's not often that you can eat such fresh food at a cafeteria in PA! When you eat it right away, it feels like it's fresh! The amberjack had just the right amount of texture and was very delicious. The miso soup contained aosa, which also went well with the seafood bowl.

In addition, you can enjoy menus using locally produced fish such as the Kihokuniya Set Meal (5 types of sashimi) for 1,280 yen and the Local Fish Tempura Set Meal for 980 yen, as well as oysters depending on the season. There was also a rich lineup including pork cutlet set meals, fried chicken set meals, ramen and curry. The restaurant also has children's chairs and children's tableware, so it's recommended for dining with the whole family.

At the take-out corner next to the restaurant, you can enjoy soft serve ice cream (vanilla, matcha, mix) made with ouchiyama milk from TaikiTown for 310 yen each, and drinks for 200 yen each.
I received soft serve ice cream and almond tofu, which is handmade in the store, for 310 yen! The soft serve ice cream has a milky yet refreshing taste. Almond tofu has a strong aroma of almonds and is easy to swallow.

Both were delicious sweets that would blow away the fatigue of the drive!

There is also a rest room on the second floor, where you can see photo exhibits of the surrounding area, and at the landing of the stairs to the second floor, a large sightseeing map of KihokuTown is posted all over the wall.

There was also a cute commemorative stamp that could be stamped on a mount with the exterior of "hajikami Terrace" printed on it, so be sure to stamp it as a souvenir at the end♪
