This is Hakusan Hime Shrine, which is said to be the origin of the place name ``Hakusancho.''
There are three ``Hakusan Hime Shrines'' in Hakusan-cho TsuCity, and they are divided into ``Yamato'', ``Kawaguchi'', and ``Yamadano'' depending on their enshrinement location.

This "Wahakusan Hime Shrine" is also a designated tangible cultural property of Mie Prefecture, and is known for its beautiful scenery of three shrine buildings.

According to the story, a long time ago, a high priest who had visited Mt. Hakusan in Hakusan City, Ishikawa Prefecture in response to a dream, returned to his hometown and was resting on the banks of kumozu when seven white herons, said to be messengers of the gods, took flight. After seeing this, he made a wish to build yagami on the spot where the seven birds landed.

The place where they alighted is said to be the ``Hakusan Seven Shrines,'' and during the Taisho period, if you visited the seven Hakusan shrines (Wa, Kawaguchi, Hatsuno, Yamadano, Iejo, Takehara, and Iifukuda shrines), you would find Kaga Hakusan. It is said that it is said to bring the same blessings as a visit to the shrine, and it is said that the shrine was frequently visited.
