Kameyama Candle's directly managed store "Candle House" introduces everything from gifts to daily soothing items♪

Speaking of Obon, we think of Kameyama candles.
Did you know that our head office is in Osaka Prefecture and our manufacturing factory is in Mie Prefecture? There are a total of three stores directly managed by the head office, one in Tokyo and two in Kameyama, Mie. Actually, Mie Prefecture used to be a candle kingdom!
This time, I visited two directly managed stores in Mie Prefecture and looked at ``modern Kameyama candles''.

First, I decided to go to Candle House Kameyama branch.
This is located near JR Kameyama Station, making it a convenient location for sightseeing around Kameyama-juku and Sekijuku Tokaido. The store's signboard is the familiar logo.
When you think of ``Kameyama of incense and candles,'' this is the image that comes to mind.

Products are lined up in rows in a brightly lit store. The words ``Favorite Series'' are written on the sales floor right after entering.
There were pop candles lined up that were different from the usual candles.
The ``Favorite Series'' is a concept product that offers the favorite food of a loved one.
There are two types: incense sticks and candles. Among them, the ``Favorite Candle'' won the Good Design Award in 2015.

This is the "favorite series" of alcoholic beverages. The one on the right side of the photo is the ``One Cup Ozeki'' incense stick, and when you light it, the scent of sake rises up.
``It's selling well,'' says staff member Araki. This is what the people who came to buy said: "I had a hard time dealing with my father's love of alcohol, but if I had to give him this gift, I'm sure he'll be happy."

As you stare at the items you're interested in, the store staff will light them one after another.
“Everyone is looking at the lit candles. Light the candles and it’s time!”
At the Kameyama store, there was a nice service where they would light up the products you were interested in and show them to you.

This is a candle made from the spirit horse of Obon. It seems to be more compact and easier to place than the vegetable spirit horse.
When I look at the flickering flames, all kinds of memories seem to come to mind...

The cold green tea candle is also part of the Favorite Series.
The two on the left are excerpts from the "Japanese sweets set". "Japanese sweets set" is a set product that includes 12 seasonal Japanese sweets candles.
The photo is of summer Japanese sweets. By the way, in autumn, there were chestnuts and persimmons. It can also be used as a gift to a friend.

The classic incense sticks and candles have been stylishly updated (of course, there are also old-fashioned standard items).
This is the "Wayu" series. The lineup of incense sticks comes in scents such as lavender and osmanthus.
There are also candles in the same container size. The candles are packaged by a long-established store in Kyoto. You can freely combine them.

Now, this is a floating candle that can be used by floating on water.
In addition to the entryway and living room of your home, it also looks good in the bathroom.
Transparent candles are squishy to the touch. It has a strange jelly-like feel.
``You'll want to touch it all the time, right?'' says staff member Araki.

For a girl born in the Showa era, the Kameyama store had an atmosphere like a fancy shop.
For those born in the Heisei era, this is a small goods store that will make your girl's heart flutter.
The atmosphere was so cheerful that I felt like I was going to find something cute.

Now, let's go to the Oasis store. This is a store located inside Kameyama Sunshine Park (Kameyama Highway Oasis).
Kameyama Sunshine Park can be accessed directly from the Higashi-Meihan Expressway (outbound).
It is also accessible from public roads. Please aim for "Plat Park Kameyama PA".

The Oasis store has a wooden interior with indirect lighting, creating a calm atmosphere.
The image is that of a modern general store. At first glance, it looks like they only have stylish candles, but...

there was! The classic Kameyama candle.
``We keep it here so you can feel free to purchase it whenever you go home,'' says store manager Wakabayashi.
By the way, Kameyama Candle has been adhering to the spirit of ``Sanzu'' since its founding.
“Three” means that the flame “does not flow, bend, or smolder.” In recent years, there are also short candles that go out in 10 minutes.

I also found some items that could be useful for summer vacation homework.
This is a set of powdered wax, color sticks for coloring, and core thread. The shaved ice candle you see in the back of the photo was made by the store staff using this kit.
The handmade candle kit costs 750 yen (+ tax).

Now, we will introduce products that are full of feminine power.
This frozen yogurt looks delicious! ...But it's sticky when you touch it. Too bad I couldn't eat it.
That's a delicious looking candle.

This is a Dolce candle. It is a compact size that burns out in 30 minutes to 1 hour.
It would be fun to collect them without lighting them. It is mixed with a fragrance that gives off a sweet scent, and when you light it, the scent spreads.

Kameyama also imports and sells candles made by overseas manufacturers.
This is a series called "Woodwick" made by an American company. The focus is on the candle wick. It's made of wood! When you light it, you will hear a faint crackling sound, similar to a bonfire, and the aroma will be fragrant.
Manager Wakabayashi seems to use it like this. ``When I get home and feel like I'm in work mode, I light this candle.The flickering flame and crackling sound instantly relieve my tension.''

This is a novel, non-lit candle. A series by the American manufacturer Yankee Candle, which offers over 150 scent variations.
The heat from the halogen bulb melts the scented candle and diffuses the scent into the room.
Come to think of it, when I burn an aroma candle, I feel so comfortable that I just want to fall asleep... It's safe even in times like this.
By the way, Kameyama is the only company in Japan that sells Yankee Candles.
