``Island trips'' are slowly gaining popularity as ``you can experience the feeling of being in another world while staying in Japan.'' Even though access may be a little inconvenient, it becomes more special and becomes an unforgettable memory. In the prefecture, the first thing that comes to mind when you think of the keywords "island trip," "stylish inn," and "beautiful view" is Haifuu, a hot spring inn on Watakanojima in ShimaCity. All rooms have an open-air bath, so you can spend a luxurious time with the stunning scenery.

Go to an exotic hotel on a private cruise

``Island trips'' are slowly gaining popularity as ``you can experience the feeling of being in another world while staying in Japan.''
In Mie Prefecture, the first thing that comes to mind when you think of the keywords "island trip," "stylish accommodation," and "beautiful view" is Haifu, a hot spring inn on Watakanojima in ShimaCity.

``Toganojima'' is an island with a circumference of approximately 6 km located in Matoya Bay, which is known for cultivating ``Matoya oysters.'' In ancient times, it was called the "Island of the Gods," and during the Edo period, it prospered as a "port of waiting for the wind," where ships on the Edo-Osaka route took refuge.

Haifuu is a hotel located along the coast of the island that has a resort feel.

Access to the hotel is by private boat.
It takes about 3 minutes to get to the pier for Haifuu from the Togano Ferry Terminal on the opposite shore. I was so excited about the service that you can take a boat to right in front of the hotel, which is called ``this is the island trip''!

*For trains, a free shuttle bus runs from Kintetsu Ugata Station to Togano Ferry Terminal.
*If you are driving, you can park at the Fukujuso parking lot on the opposite bank.
"Tokano Ferry Terminal" is located approximately 160 meters from the parking lot. Private boats operate at any time (Please contact us by phone from the opposite shore. If by train, please contact us from Kintetsu "Ugata" Station)

The inside of the building has an exotic atmosphere.
The interior and decorations are unified with Asian tastes and are very stylish.

It's fun to relax in the lobby while looking out at the beautiful ocean. ``Asian tea'' and ``Baumkuchen'' made by a local sweets shop are also popular.

There is terrace seating, so if the weather is nice, it might be nice to spend an elegant time on the terrace while looking out at the ocean.

All rooms come with an open-air bath, so you can enjoy the magnificent view all to yourself!

The selling point of Haifuu's guest rooms is that they all come with open-air baths, allowing you to enjoy ocean views.
Choose your favorite from 6 types with different personalities. The special room ``Yuyu'' is a mix of Japanese and Western styles, and is luxurious as it includes a 10-tatami Japanese-style room, a twin bed room, and even a shower booth.

Relax in the open-air bath where you can take your time while feeling the refreshing sea breeze. It's so comfortable that you'll want to stay in it forever!

The waves of Matoya Bay spread out in front of you are calm. The scenery is so magnificent that you won't get tired of just watching the ships coming and going in the port!

``Aqua'' is a guest room that is rarely found, and is a ``Western-style room with an Asian taste.''
The stylish tables and chairs also create a time of conversation.

The Japanese-style room "Rifu" is a space that combines Japanese taste and Asian taste.
The interior is made of natural materials and matches the Japanese atmosphere.

Refresh your mind and body in hot springs with highly therapeutic effects!

If you would like to enjoy a bath that is larger than the open-air bath in your guest room, we recommend going to the garden open-air bath ``Kazemachi no Minato'' in the main building ``Fukujusou.''
``Haifu'' is an accommodation facility that is an annex to ``Fukujuso,'' and it takes about 1 minute to walk to the adjacent ``Fukujuso.''

The private hot spring source gushing out from within the premises is a ``medical spring'' (sodium/calcium chloride spring) that is said to have the highest therapeutic effects among hot springs. When drunk, it has the effect of stimulating the gastrointestinal tract, so it is also called ``stomach hot water.''

There are two types of ``Kazemachi no Yu'', and they are designed to allow you to enjoy different atmospheres. There is also a ``walking bath'' that is about waist deep and is said to be effective in promoting blood circulation in the lower body and treating sensitivity to cold, and is popular among the elderly.

We also have a ``private open-air bath'' where you can enjoy a relaxing moment without any hesitation. There is a bath with a cute flower design and a cypress bath, making it a bath that people of all ages can enjoy.

Don't miss the observation bath located on the roof of Haifuu. Looking at the view from here, I realized once again how great the location of this ryokan is.

Eat luxuriously with Ise-Shima ingredients at “Creative Japanese Kaiseki”!

One of the pleasures of staying at Haifuu is the Japanese-style French cuisine, which uses locally caught seafood.
We are particular about using plenty of branded ingredients such as spiny lobster, abalone, and Matoya oysters. The menu offers a perfect combination of Japanese cooking techniques that bring out the best in ingredients and the delicate flavors unique to French cooking.

The freshest seafood is prepared in the most delicious way possible, depending on what's available that day. One of the best parts of traveling is enjoying dishes that can only be tasted in a particular area.

The place to eat is the dining restaurant ``Umikaze''.
Enjoying your meal in a calm atmosphere while looking out at the beautiful sea, you will feel like you are at an overseas resort!

"Aesthetics" that balances your skin and mind

In addition, at the ``Aesthetic Salon'' within the hotel, you can experience the healing benefits of ``Ayurveda,'' known as one of the world's three major traditional medicines. Traditional Indian therapies such as meditation and detox help balance your skin and mind.

Speaking of Mie's remote islands, Toshijima, Kamishima, Sakatejima, and Sugashima in TobaCity come to mind, but on this trip I learned that Toganoshima in ShimaCity is also a noteworthy spot. The ``Beautiful View Inn'' on the charming island not only filled my heart with the view, but also with the hot springs and food.
