Jumping into the emerald green basin of a waterfall, or floating around on a boat while listening to the sound of flowing water... activities that both children and adults can have fun playing in the water.

Do you like waterfalls?
Ayako Sakazaki, a ``Taki Girl'' who loves waterfalls, introduced us to `` Hisetsu-no-takiFalls Campsite'' in KihoTown.

Hello. This is Ayako Sakazaki from "Taki Girl".
I'm a waterfall geek who thinks about waterfalls all the time, so much so that I often joke that "waterfalls are my lover."

While I usually work in Tokyo, I spend my weekends visiting waterfalls all over Japan, but recently I've been working as a guide, writing columns, and giving lectures to help more people learn how to enjoy waterfalls. We are also putting effort into raising awareness about the charm of waterfalls!

This time, Kanko Mie would like to introduce you to waterfall play in KihoTown, the southernmost area of Mie Prefecture. We would like to introduce a secret waterfall tour that we recommend especially during summer vacation.

Go to the special river play spot!

The tour we will introduce this time is on the activity menu of KihoTown 's "Hisetsu-no-takiFalls Campsite".

Hisetsu-no-takiFalls Campsite is a popular campsite for waterfall enthusiasts. After all, the campsite is in a great location right in front of the waterfall!

Not only that, but they also suggest various ways to enjoy the waterfall, like this tour.

After gathering at Hisetsu-no-takiFalls campsite and putting on a wet suit, life jacket, and felt-soled shoes for walking in the stream, it's time to head to the river play spot!

When I followed the forest road along the river to the end, I could see the sparkle of the waterfall below.

This is the stage for this episode: Nachigo Falls!
The total height of the waterfall is about 10m. It falls into a two-tier Namedaki (waterfall flowing over smooth bedrock) and finally empties into a wide emerald green basin.

Although it is so beautiful, it is a little-known waterfall that even the locals don't know about.

Go to the emerald green waterfall basin! Of course, the participants were dressed with the assumption that they would get wet from head to toe, but when they first entered the waterfall, they were still afraid...

However, both adults and children will soon get used to it.

From here, our guide, Mr. Satake, will suggest various ways to play.

First of all, jump under the waterfall! The basin of the first waterfall is deep, so you can jump from the rocks. It may be some kind of ritual to play with the waterfall.

Look at the color of this water! The water is so clear that even if you accidentally drink it, you won't have any problems.

By the way, as a waterfall girl, I can't stop grinning at this point.

Relive your childhood sense of adventure!

The next challenge is the waterfall slide! Both the upper and lower levels of this waterfall are like slides. The difficulty level of this slider seems to be just right.

Anyone can slide down with just a little courage. The upper waterfall has a steeper slope! ↓

This is me! They are having fun while being watched by the children (lol)

From this point on, everyone started playing on their own. Not only children but also adults seem to be reviving their childhood sense of adventure.

Even though this wasn't my hometown, I felt somehow nostalgic. If there was a playground like this in my hometown, I would have gone there every day during my summer vacation.

River play has been updated with the appearance of secret items

Now, here comes the secret item! This is a "packraft".
A raft boat that can be folded into a small size. If this is introduced, the range of waterfall play will further expand. It's not difficult at all, and anyone can use it right away.

Going down the slide you just skied on your own in a packraft makes it even more fun!

It feels really good to paddle slowly around the wide basin of the waterfall... It moves smoothly on the water surface.
We had two packrafts, but the kids gave them to us and we rode them quite a bit (lol).

Peaceful time

Although this tour is not aimed at a specific destination, I feel how luxurious it is to spend time freely in this paradise-like place.

Sometimes I just relax and look up at the sky or peek at the fish in the water (I wasn't able to take a photo, but there are a lot of fish).

The BGM is the sound of cicadas and the sound of a flowing waterfall.
The voices of everyone having fun overlapped there... It had an indescribable healing effect.

I am deeply moved by this kind of peace. Just like that, two hours passed in the blink of an eye. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Slide down a waterfall or jump into a waterfall basin. There aren't many other activities that allow you to use so much of your body and play with nature.
There will be a guide with you, so you can rest assured about your safety.

When it comes to outdoor activities in the summer, you can get tired of the heat, but this tour has nothing to do with the heat as it involves playing with water. The higher the temperature, the more you can enjoy it.

I thought I'd be tired because I'm probably moving my body a lot more than usual, but that's not the case at all. You might think it's for children and young people, but it's actually recommended for working adults who don't have enough nature.
Charge up the power of nature and be sure to feel energetic!
