MatsusakaCity General Sports Park Skate Park is the first public skate park in Mie Prefecture, boasting the largest area in Japan (4,730 square meters)! There are three different and attractive areas, so everyone from beginners to experts will be satisfied. Let's enjoy skateboarding to the fullest♪

The prefecture's first skate park, which boasts the largest area in Japan, has opened in MatsusakaCity!
MatsusakaCity General Sports Park Skate Park is located in Yamashita Town. You can play to your heart's content on the huge site of 4,730m2, which won the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Award in the construction category of the 35th Urban Park Contest!

This ``competition area'' was supervised by the Japan Skateboarding Association, and it is also possible to hold international competitions.
There are various areas such as the ``pool area'', which is a full-fledged area created by combining curved surfaces, and the ``local area'', which even beginners can enjoy, so you can ski according to your level.

The skate park usage fee is 300 yen for adults, 100 yen for junior high and high school students, and children under elementary school age can enter for free and can re-enter.
Even if you're wondering whether to try skateboarding for the first time, you'll be glad to know that the entrance fee is affordable! We also rent helmets and skateboards. (1 skateboard 300 yen, 1 helmet 100 yen, 1 protector 100 yen)

There is also a parking lot near the skate park, so you can park nearby and enter.
There is also a shower room inside the MatsusakaCity Sports Park Management Office, so you can stay comfortably even on hot days. (Apply at reception, 100 yen for 10 minutes.)

We also regularly hold skateboarding schools for elementary school students and older. This school is open to both beginners who have never ridden a skateboard and those who want to become better at skateboarding.
It's free! (Admission fee only)

Instructors from the Matsusaka Skateboarding Association will carefully teach you the basics of skateboarding.
The school progresses peacefully from beginning to end. A very fun atmosphere with lots of laughter from the interesting lecturers!

Once we start the practical training, we will divide the students into beginners and intermediate students. They provided thorough guidance on how to ride a skateboard according to each person's level.
Let's start with how to ride the board! This may seem simple at first glance, but it is a very important point as getting it wrong can lead to injury.

The children were also very interested in trying out skateboarding for the first time!
My instructor held my hand firmly and I was excited to ride a skateboard for the first time. Parents can also take a closer look.

Even though it was difficult for the child to ride at first, he is now able to move forward more and more!
Once you are able to move forward, move to a larger area and try going a little further!

It's well balanced and looks like a skateboard!
You'll be able to ride it in no time. The way it slides straight is so cool!

In the intermediate area, we saw people trying to slide on pyramid-shaped tops like this one and lightly sliding down hills.
There is a risk of falling, so it is mandatory to wear a helmet and protector at school. You can also rent it on the day.

Besides skating, you can also enjoy skateboarding in many ways, such as learning tricks and trying your hand at sliding down hills!

School is for 2 hours from 9:30 to 11:30. Take breaks in between and make sure to stay hydrated.
On sunny days, there will be reflections from the ground, so if you don't like glare, we recommend bringing sunglasses.

In addition to the local area where the school is held, there are courses of various shapes, so you can enjoy skateboarding to your heart's content.
As you go around the skate park, you'll see skaters having fun skating in various spots.

This is part of the competition area. There are many sloped sections called banks and circles, making this area perfect for advanced skateboarders!

We had a school instructor perform an ollie (a technique for jumping with a skateboard)!
Great height and cool! If you keep practicing, you might be able to pull off a trick like this someday! ?

The last event of the school is a fun game! In order to get familiar with skateboarding and enjoy it, we have started hand-pushed sumo using a board!
Both adults and children were smiling and having fun!

Although it is often thought of as a sport for mostly boys, there were many girls and adult women participating in the school as well! Of course girls are bound to be able to skate smoothly!
The appeal of skateboarding is that it can be enjoyed by people of all ages and genders!

Currently, there are only a few skate parks in the prefecture, and there are only a few places where you can skateboard, but at this park anyone can easily enjoy themselves to the fullest. Even if you don't get enough exercise, why not give it a try?

MatsusakaCity Sports Park Skate Park is a park created by people who love skateboarding and is truly a park for skateboarding enthusiasts. If you are interested in skateboarding, please use the school and try out skateboarding!
