Matsujiro's Store was opened in 1990 as a directly managed honey specialty store by a long-established bee farm founded in 1912, with the desire to "convey the charm of honey to as many people as possible..." The name of the shop was taken from the name of the founder, Matsujiro Mizutani.
Matsujiro, the first head of the family, was deeply moved by the irreplaceable benefits that bees bring not only to humans but to all living things on earth, and was deeply moved by the deliciousness of the honey they collect. However, there is an anecdote that he decided to start his own business after seeing his family and neighbors happy.

Following the true path of a beekeeper

Shunsuke Mizutani, President and Representative Director of Matsujiro no Ho Co., Ltd., kindly responded to our interview.
President Mizutani himself is a beekeeper and a ``honey master'' who travels around Japan in search of flowers with bees during the honey harvesting season.
This is something that President Mizutani keeps in mind every year before the full-fledged honey harvesting season begins. Apparently, this means ``following the true path of being a beekeeper.''

The ``honest path of being a beekeeper'' is ``raising healthy bees and harvesting truly delicious honey.It's not about high or low prices, it's about pure honey, honey that you want to eat and that you want to feed to your family. However, we are looking for truly delicious honey.We believe that we can only demonstrate our true value when we deliver delicious and safe honey and our customers are satisfied with the product. That's what I saw.

Working to protect the environment through honey

Additionally, bees have been decreasing in recent years due to the deterioration of the natural environment.
When President Mizutani was a young child, there were many flower fields, including astragalus fields, in the suburbs of MatsusakaCity.
However, recently it has become rare to see such flower fields. That's unfortunate.
Bees play an important role in environmental protection, as they not only collect honey but also pollinate various plants.

President Mizutani is conducting a ``Flower Planting Campaign'' in Mie and Nagano prefectures as an initiative to protect the environment. Approximately 7 hectares of flower gardens have been restored. We also hold lectures in various locations to foster beekeepers.
Inheriting the thoughts of founder Matsujiro, he said, ``I want to convey the wonders of beekeeping and the deliciousness of honey to as many people as possible.''
