What is mogcook?

mogcook is a mail order service that delivers seasonal fish weaning ingredients from Mie Prefecture and ingredients that can be safely consumed by everyone from babies to adults.
Kihoku-cho, KihokuTown-gun, where D-Green Co., Ltd., which operates mogcook, is located, is a fishing town with a long history of thriving fishing industry, along with neighboring OwaseCity and TaikiTown-cho. Fresh, seasonal fish caught locally in Mie is hand-deboned to make it into baby food, processed and delivered so that even babies can eat it with peace of mind.

Japan is said to be turning away from fish, but the reason for this is mostly due to the amount of time it takes to cook it. Mogcook's service solves that problem, which is great for busy moms. And why mogcook recommends fish with skin. This is because the fat between the body and skin is rich in DHA, EPA, and taurine.
In particular, the unsaturated fatty acids (DHA and EPA) contained in fish have a role in supporting brain growth, so it is a good idea to start consuming them from an early age. This is also a big reason why fish is suitable as baby food.

We only use local Mie fish.

The future of mogcook

We asked Kei Tachibana (pictured on the right), the director in charge of mogcook, why he started the mogcook service.
It seems that the following words from a person from KihokuTown who now lives in Tokyo became the inspiration.

``There are few types of fish in Tokyo, and there are few foods that can be safely eaten.'' ``I think many families with children will be happy with the service of processing Mie's seasonal fish so that they can be used as baby food and delivering them to their homes.'' We took this suggestion and turned it into a business.

Tachibana is from Iwate. When he was a student, he did an internship at a guesthouse in KihokuTown and fell in love with the town so much that he moved there. He started his business with the desire to help as many people as possible with delicious, nutritious, and safe fish from nagashima, KihokuTown, which he loves. Business started in July 2014. It has already been used by more than 7,000 households nationwide.

I heard that your future plans include developing a new ``infant food course'' for babies (targeted at ages 2 and up). Japan is said to be away from fish. I think this is a wonderful company that protects the Japanese food culture and the health of the Japanese people by making use of fish, which is the best resource that Japan is blessed with because it is surrounded by the sea.
