Taiki-cho, TaikiTown, located at a relay point between Ise and Kumano, is a town surrounded by majestic mountains and rich in nature, facing the Kumanonada Sea. A new activity that is attracting attention in TaikiTown is the "E-bike tour"! Tour the nature and famous spots of TaikiTown on an electric sports bike, and enjoy lunch with an experience at a private lodging in the town. I went to experience the speedy feeling of an E-bike and the charm of TaikiTown!

Cycling through TaikiTown, which is full of nature... seemed like fun, so I visited the starting point for that day's tour, ` Michi-no-eki OkuiseKitsutsukikan''.

The ``E-bike'' you will experience is a sports bike with an electric assist unit attached.
Since it has electric assist, it is not only easy to travel long distances and up hills, but also looks cool!

Right away, the guide will teach you how to use the E-bike.
Electric assist can be switched to normal mode, slope mode, low power mode, etc., and you can change to your preferred gear from 1 to 7.

It also comes with a drink holder on the body, so you can easily replenish your hydration.

For safety, wear a helmet and gloves.
During the tour, we learned about hand signals from the guide, so we were fully prepared!

Currently, to prevent coronavirus infection,
We are taking thorough measures such as measuring the body temperature of participants and guides, disinfecting our hands and equipment with alcohol, and wearing masks during explanations.
Since the tour was originally limited to one group, you can rest assured that you can avoid the 3 Cs.

The tour is finally starting!
Today we are going on a course that will take you to power spots in the Omiya area of TaikiTown, Takihara and Aso areas!

There are a total of 6 courses to explore TaikiTown on an E-bike tour.
The content varies depending on the course, such as going to Takiharanomiya Naiku a Betsugu to the inner shrine of IseJingu, Kasagi Valley, a famous spot for autumn leaves, and tasting dairy products from ouchiyama Dairy, a specialty of TaikiTown various!

What's interesting is that it's a "mystery tour" where you don't know which course you'll take until you participate in the experience!
Five of the six courses are supervised by the sponsoring company of the cycling professional Tour de Nippon, and are certified as authentic and safe!
Our guide, who is certified as an escort rider and knows all about TaikiTown 's highlights, will guide you through the recommended seasonal courses. fun!

Courses can also be viewed from the homepage.

First, go to Takiharanomiya which is right next to the starting point, OkuiseKitsutsukikan.
It is one of the most popular sightseeing spots in TaikiTown.
Once you have the power, you can continue cycling!

When I tried cycling, I noticed that the lightness and speed of pedaling was completely different from that of a regular bicycle!
I love riding a bicycle in my daily life, but the feeling of moving forward with just a little push is incomparable!
E-bikes allow you to enjoy long-distance cycling without putting any strain on your body! It is safe even for those who are not confident in their physical strength.

The sights aren't just tourist spots, it's also fun to ride on the ordinary roads!
If you look around the scenery, you'll see streams flowing, mountains rising, and countryside-like scenery that will soothe you.

The interview took place in late November. Autumn leaves were in full bloom everywhere!
One of the attractions of this tour is that you can enjoy the views of each season, from cherry blossoms in spring to spring water and the sea in summer, and feel the seasons. It's also great that you can enjoy it regardless of the season.

We have arrived at Aso Yu no Sato, which is home to the natural hot spring Aso Onsen, as well as facilities such as Shunsai, a four-season store that sells directly from the farm, and Asunaro Shokudo!
I went to the restroom, went shopping for fresh vegetables grown in TaikiTown, and took a short break.

And then, the much-awaited lunch will be served at Kawabe no Yado Sanzui, a private lodging in the town that is located close to Asoyu no Sato!

A spacious dormitory, a splendid garden, and a lawn area where you can pitch a tent...
It is a wonderful space where you can feel the murmuring of ouchiyama flowing right next to you.

What you can enjoy here is authentic pizza that is handmade from the dough by Sanzui's owner and baked in a pizza oven! Stretch the dough yourself and add your favorite sauce and toppings to create your own original pizza! Enjoy freshly baked and piping hot!

In this way, all six courses of the E-bike tour come with an experiential lunch that you can enjoy at a different private accommodation!

After experiencing skewering wild ayu, there are inns where you can enjoy a sweetfish course such as salt-grilled ayu grilled in an irori hearth and kamameshi, and inns where you can enjoy freshly harvested vegetable dishes and rice cooked in a pot. rich!

In fact, TaikiTown currently has the largest number of private lodging houses in the prefecture, with 18.
The E-bike tour is not just cycling, but it proposes a way to spend time in TaikiTown which is "cycling and private lodging", which can be said to be the biggest feature of this tour.
Being able to interact with local people while staying in a private lodging is also attractive!

After leaving Minpaku Sanzui, we drove along a forest road with some ups and downs.
The electric assist of the E-bike is also very useful here!
Even the sloped road was so smooth that I was surprised and wondered, "Wasn't that the slope I was driving on?" (lol)

Then, after passing through the forest road, head to Yaetani Spring.

There is a small waterfall upstream, and the bottom of the waterfall is a beautiful Yaetani blue. The clear air full of negative ions felt great!

As a bonus, we were also guided to a limestone cave called ``Fuketsu''.
There is such a mysterious space at the end of the ladder!
It was a strange feeling to find a place like this in the forest where I had just been running.

The cycling tour ends with a return trip full of nature and back to the original "Kitsutsukikan".

Mr. Takabayashi enjoyed guiding me all day today.
``Cycling allows you to experience different winds, smells, and air depending on the season you ride in. With the Taiki E-bike Tour, you can have a different experience on each of the six courses, and you can also interact with different private lodging establishments. A fun cycling tour like no other! ”, he said about the appeal of E-bike tours.
