E-bike trip at Inabe Cycle Terminal! I went on a cycling tour to experience nature!

InabeCity has many spots where you can enjoy nature, culture, food, and the outdoors, including the majestic Suzuka Mountains. This time, we will experience a bicycle tour at Inabe Cycle Terminal, which is perfect for people who want to spend an active time in nature! I thoroughly enjoyed the tour, which left me mentally and physically satisfied with the beautiful scenery of each season, the food, and the warm encounters with the local people.

This time, I came to ageki Cycle Terminal, which is located in front of Ageki Station on the Sangi Railway Hokusei Line. This is a cycle terminal specializing in sports bikes, which is rare even in Japan. You can enjoy cycling according to your individual wishes.

The person who welcomed us was KINAN Cycling Team event director Tomohiro Tanaka.

Mr. Tanaka became aware of the appeal of bicycles when he was involved in the management of Japan's top bicycle road race "Tour of Japan" which started in 2015, and now enjoys life with bicycles both at work and in private, and has become a reliable bicycle. It's the guide!

Inabe Cycle Terminal's theme is "Bringing the fun of riding a bicycle to everyone." In addition to road bikes, we also rent electrically assisted bicycles (e-bikes) and children's bicycles.
We also rent out helmets, etc., so you don't have to bring anything! You can easily make your debut as a cyclist.

First, when deciding on a course, he asked me about my interests, such as ``What do you want to do?'' and ``Is there a place you want to go?''
"I don't know what I can do or what I can enjoy..." Of course, that's okay!
Mr. Tanaka, who knows everything about InabeCity, will make recommendations, including spots with beautiful views of the four seasons and gourmet information.

This time, we decided on a course that has little difference in elevation and will aim for Michi-no-eki "Uribou" while stopping at various recommended spots ♪ Once you have decided on your destination, it's time to choose a rental bike!
Both road bikes and e-bikes can be rented for 1,000 yen per hour.

As a cycling beginner, I rented an electric-assist bicycle called an e-bike that can be used for 4 to 5 hours continuously!
A professional will adjust your bike to suit your height.
It was also convenient that it came with a helmet, bottle cage, and cell phone holder!

Cycling tour starts!

Thanks to the electric assist, the bicycle moves easily♪ When I got used to operating a mountain bike, I went out on a road along the tracks of the Sangi Railway Hokusei Line.

There is little traffic and you can enjoy cycling comfortably. The wind feels so good!

The train has just arrived! It's fun to be able to run parallel to the train like this!
I watched the train move on, feeling the pleasant tiredness of pedaling hard to keep up with it.

After rowing for a while, we arrived at the civil engineering heritage sites ``Megane Bridge'' and ``Nejiri Bridge.''
Meganebashi Bridge made of concrete blocks is said to be very rare and valuable.
It is a popular photo spot in InabeCity to take pictures of Megane Bridge and the vehicles passing on the Hokusei Line!

Because the torsion bridge diagonally intersects the bridge used to carry the railway and the irrigation canal used to bring water to the rice fields, it seems that it was necessary to load the blocks with a twist.
When I heard that this bridge with its beautiful arch was built during the Edo period, I was amazed at the level of craftsmanship at the time!

Next we came to Kanai Shrine.
It is a spot that is rapidly gaining in popularity as it is said to be photogenic.

Hanachozu with fresh flowers floating in the water

Votive windmill with wishes written on it

There are many photogenic features, such as the goshuin stamp whose design changes every month!
It was a shrine where you could feel the dignified splendor and solemn atmosphere.

Then, we arrived at our goal, “Fureai Station Uribou”!

InabeCity 's specialty products are lined up in rows, including agricultural products where you can see the faces of InabeCity 's producers, as well as processed products such as tea, pork, alcohol, and rice cakes.

The 14 types of daily gelato made with local ingredients are also delicious!

When I told Mr. Tanaka that I wanted to enjoy InabeCity 's food even more, he changed the course so that I could stop by a Western confectionery shop that had some recommended sweets.
It's nice to be able to respond flexibly to situations like this.

We arrived at Patisserie Café Konmatei, a stylish restaurant located in the midst of nature.
I went to the store to look for Inabe no Cabbage, a giant cream puff that is famous in this area.

From the front are the popular cream puff ``Inabe no Choutaro'', the pie-wrapped ``Inabe no Ko cabbage'', and ``Inabe no cabbage'', which is so named because it is about the same size as a cabbage!
They decided on this size because they wanted everyone to eat it together. It had a soothing and gentle flavor that showed that it was made with care, and it was very delicious!
There are also many other sweets made with ingredients from Inabe, such as Inabe no Chappurin.

KINAN Cycling Team athletes also eat it as a reward for their hard work. When you compare it to a person, its size is obvious! It's the same size as a real cabbage!

After completing a 4-hour cycling tour, I returned to Inabe Cycle Terminal.
I was new to cycling, but I was able to enjoy cycling!
By the way, if you are in trouble, you don't have to worry because they will rush to you in a vehicle that can carry your bicycle.

The cycling course includes a course that visits InabeCity Agricultural Park (Plum Grove Park), one of the largest plum orchards in the Tokai area, in March.

There are still many attractive courses where you can enjoy the scenery of each season, such as the Inabegawa Promenade, which is best run during the cherry blossom season.

We also regularly hold events where you can ride with athletes from Asia's strongest professional team who won Japan's top bicycle road race, ``Tour of Japan.''

Depending on the season or event, you'll want to visit again and again!

By the way, the Sangi Railway Sangi Line also has a ``cycle train'' that is always in operation, allowing you to bring your bicycle onto the train.

Nishi-Fujiwara Station, the terminal station on the Sangi Line, has three railway vehicles on display: a steam locomotive, an electric locomotive, and a diesel locomotive! There is a unique station building shaped like a steam locomotive and a lawn park, making it a popular spot for families.

Whether you love cycling or are planning to do so, please come and experience the fun of cycling and the charm of InabeCity at Inabe Cycle Terminal!
