An adventurous trip to Toba - Encounter with the giant park playground equipment "Gulliver" -Advertisement

I'm Gulliver. I live in a port town called TobaCity located on the eastern edge of Mie Prefecture. TobaCity has flourished as a natural port since ancient times, and is a tourist destination that serves as the gateway to the sea in Ise-Shima.
I am at Shimin-no-Mori Park, a place for residents to relax in TobaCity. My daily routine is to spend time with my children.
Perhaps because I stand out so much, Citizen's Forest Park is popularly known as ``Gulliver Park.''

I'm sitting inconspicuously in a corner of the area next to the lawn where the playground equipment is set up. Furthermore, the road runs in front of me, and I can see my presence from cars.

Around Shimin-no-Mori Park, there are sports facilities such as the city library and the civic gymnasium, as well as a shopping center, so on holidays, the area around me is crowded with many people, including families.
In addition, it is recommended as it is relatively empty on weekdays as a measure against the 3 Cs.

My right arm is a slide. The mechanism is that it slides out under the side and lands on the palm of the hand. I look forward to seeing the smiling faces of children playing happily. Please follow the order and play safely and happily.

My size seems to be rare in this country. They are often frightened by small children. His expression hasn't changed, but he's not in a bad mood, so please rest assured.
However, on the other hand, there are many visitors who are interested in my unique posture and come to take pictures of me. I feel a little embarrassed, but it's not a big deal as long as I think it will help me remember my trip and the town of Toba.

I would like to talk a little about my past here. Actually, I wasn't at Citizen's Forest Park from the beginning.
This goes back several decades. Between 1974 and 1996, he worked for several years on the deck of the marine pavilion "Toba Burajirumaru" (approximately 10,000 tons), a former immigrant ship moored at Toba Port in front of Toba Station (Gulliver is on the right side of the photo). ). There are many people who miss me back then.
I moved to Shimin no Mori Park in 1985 (Showa 60).

Over the years, my skin and clothes had fallen apart (photo taken in 2005).
Unable to see me in such a state, in 2019, with the kindness of a local organization, the building was restored and has become what it is today. My heart is filled with gratitude. I vow to never forget this kindness and to do my best for this town as long as I have the strength to do so.

Now, I would like to introduce Shimin-no-Mori Park, where I live.
It is located about 5 minutes by car south of Toba Station, and has good transportation links. The park has playground equipment other than mine, a lawn area, walking paths, and a small zoo, so you can spend a relaxing day there.
On weekends and when the weather is nice, this place is crowded with visitors from both inside and outside the city.

Besides me, the park also has standard play equipment such as swings and slides. I watch over the safety of the children who use the play equipment.
Also, if you look carefully at the playground equipment, you'll notice that many of them are in Gulliver colors (red, blue, and yellow), so please check them out on site.

Many people enjoy walking and running in the park, as there is a walking path that passes through the trees. Every morning, my daily routine is to make eye contact with the runners and exchange greetings.

I would like to introduce a unique member of Citizen's Forest Park other than myself.
First up is Mr. Peacock. The beautiful blue-green pattern attracts many people. Famous researcher Charles Darwin even wrote in his book, ``No ornament can match this beauty...It is extremely remarkable.'' If you see one spreading its wings, you're probably lucky.

Next is Mr. Inko. She is popular for her adorable looks. I get the impression that birds like Mr. Peacock and Mr. Parakeet are showy. I can't afford to lose either.

It's Mr. Goat. With its gentle personality, it can be said that it brings comfort to visitors. However, although Mr. Yagi is not malicious, he has a habit of shaking his head, so you need to be careful.

We must not forget that the appeal of Shimin-no-Mori Park is its rich natural environment. Especially in the spring, when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, many people come to see them.

In 2021, I started SNS as a new challenge. After thinking about what I could do to contribute to TobaCity and Mie Prefecture during the coronavirus pandemic, I decided to share information. The content of the post is about a trivial incident at Citizen's Forest Park. In a sense, communicating on SNS can be called Gulliver's adventure.
