Workspace in a fishing village with a view of the ocean. Gazing at the magnificent scenery, you will forget about the fatigue from work.

If you work under the blue sky, ideas will naturally come to you.

If you use the portable Wi-Fi you can rent at Share Space Doi Mise, you can turn any space in the city into a workplace. One of the joys of a workday in Owase is finding your own special seat, whether it's a workspace with a spectacular view in a fishing village, a hot bath facility, the water on the beach, or in the middle of a primeval forest.

Yumekodo Owase has plenty of workspaces where you can concentrate and places to heal your fatigue, so you can spend the entire day in seclusion.

One of the recommended spots is the hot bath facility "Yumekodo Owase". You can enjoy Owase's mother's local cuisine and a day trip to a deep ocean water hot spring. The old folk house cafe inside the facility is a spacious and open space perfect for working, and when you get tired, you can take a relaxing bath in the open-air bath, which is good for your skin, and take a breather while looking out at Owase Bay and the mountains of Kumano. Take a nap while rocking in the hammock installed inside the room. If you're hungry, head to the lunch buffet that uses Owase's seasonal ingredients. Community exchange lounge held at shared space Doi Mise

Shared Space Doi Mise also provides users with information on delicious local restaurants and other information, and serves as a conduit for connecting with the local community. At the community exchange lounge, which is held from time to time, users can interact with residents living in the area, and you can also get information on special activities that only Owase people know about and deep local spots. You might be able to find some hidden gems that you can't find in tourist guides or on the internet.

Honjitsu no Sakana is a restaurant with a quaint atmosphere that depicts the daily life of a port town.

A hearty lunch made with plenty of fresh seafood from HigashiKishu

One of the fish recommended by locals is ``Honjitsu no Sakana''. This is a sashimi set meal specialty restaurant that opened in 2019 in an old folk house that was built over 80 years ago with DIY renovations, and is a hidden gem that is popular among locals. The owners are a married couple who run a creative izakaya in Osaka. The wife is from Owase, so they opened the business and managed the restaurant while living in two areas. The dishes are prepared using fish freshly caught in HigashiKishu, and are arranged in such a large amount that they can't even fit on a large tray. Although it is only open for lunch on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, they also have a wide selection of sake and shochu that go well with fish, making it perfect for a luxurious lunch as a reward for your hard work on weekdays. Not only can you dine in the restaurant's atmosphere, but you can also enjoy delicious fish home with a full take-out menu, including stylish mackerel sandwiches that redefine the image of mackerel. We hope you will enjoy the exquisite Owase gourmet food prepared to the fullest.

Owase's downtown area is also lined with unique restaurants, including Italian restaurants that use plenty of freshly caught local fish and small bars that are crowded with locals. One of the great pleasures of Owase is that you can sometimes finish work early, head to a bar with friends you met at Doi Mise, and stay up late drinking bar-hopping. Chatting over delicious fish and alcohol will naturally ease your mood and deepen your friendships.

Stylish accessories, jewelry, and miscellaneous goods are sold at pop-up stores that are held irregularly.

For those who work in sales or store management in urban areas, a pop-up store plan is available that allows them to promote and sell to local residents who are looking to encounter attractive products. You can open a store for a limited time in a cultural heritage building or in an idle space in the area. At the event held in 2020, unique accessory shops and miscellaneous goods stores from all over the country were lined up, creating new interactions between people who would not normally meet. Collaborations with urban restaurants are also planned in the future, so it looks like you'll be able to enjoy a new side of Owase each time you visit.

Watashi, a fishing village living inn, is a private inn limited to one group per day.

The NPO Owase Kurashi Support Center, which operates Doi Mise, also operates a guest house called ``Fishing Village Living Inn Watamashi,'' which is a renovated old private house. Up to 5 people can stay in the whole house, so you can relax and enjoy the nostalgic atmosphere that makes you feel like you're visiting your grandmother's house in the countryside. In principle, you will be staying overnight without meals, but there are many local restaurants within walking distance, so you will not have trouble finding a place to eat. It's a perfect location for fishing enthusiasts, as it's only a 1-minute drive from the sea, so it might be fun to procure side dishes for dinner from the sea.

In port towns, lowering anchor and parking a ship is called teihaku. Just as regular cruise ships stop at a port for a while, travelers move around with their own jobs and daily lives, and as they work and interact with the daily life of a port town, they create a place they want to return to. In Owase, you can enjoy a comfortable and peaceful work vacation, as if you are anchored in port town life.
