Waterfall experience to train your mind and wash away your thoughts
Shirataki oaki is said to bring blessings for good harvests, maritime safety, and family safety, and has been an object of worship for people since ancient times. Even though it is called nature worship, it does not involve rigorous training like Shugendo, but rather a relatively gentle practice such as wishing for happiness, praying to the gods, and purifying the mind and body in order to serve. During Shirataki's waterfall experience, participants pray to the gods and purify their mind and body to train their spirit and wash away distractions. This waterfall experience has become more popular year by year, and in 2020, a total of approximately 1,300 people visited the waterfall experience.
Before the waterfall experience, we completed the registration process at the entrance of the mountain path, and proceeded further into the mountain path to inform Shirataki oaki that we would be performing the waterfall procession. As you walk along the mountain path, the sound of the trees swaying in the wind and the murmuring of the river calms your mind.
The mountain where Mr. Shirataki is located leads to Naiku of IseJingu, so it was said that it was also the approach to the shrine where the ingredients of this region, which is rich in sea and mountains, were brought as offerings to IseJingu. Walk along the mountain path where many people have walked since ancient times while praying to the gods, and offer your wishes and prayers to the gods at Shirataki oaki.
When you arrive near the waterfall, change into your costume for the waterfall walk. All the costumes necessary for the waterfall trip are provided, so you can experience the waterfall trip empty-handed. Men wear loincloths and headbands, and women wear white coats or jinbei and headbands. Get fired up and get into the water!
After going to the waterfall, warm your cleansed body by a bonfire.
After changing your clothes, you will be given an amulet and a certificate of completion to prove that you have completed the waterfall experience. The changing rooms are equipped with hair dryers and powder rooms, so women can spend their time comfortably.
Finland is the home of saunas. Experience a forest sauna nestled in the midst of lush nature!
In Finland, there is a long-established method of bathing known as ``Loulyu,'' which involves pouring water over heated sauna stones and bathing in the steam. In the forest sauna, you can enjoy the aroma of Yamato Tachibana, a citrus fruit indigenous to Japan that has been selected as TobaCity 's tree, while experiencing an authentic ``Lowry'' that can only be found in Toba. In Finland, people jump into lakes to cool down after warming up in the sauna, but forest saunas are also similar, where you step into an ever-flowing river connected from upstream in the mountains, or cool down in a cypress pool filled with river water. do. A sauna experience that rivals Finland, its birthplace!
The forest sauna can be reserved for private use, so you can enjoy a private time with close friends and family while enjoying the freedom of nature. What a luxurious experience!
When water is poured on the sauna stone, water vapor containing far-infrared rays and negative ions is generated. Steam quickly spreads inside the sauna, raising the perceived temperature, and the humidity makes you sweat. Since it promotes sweating from the core of the body, it is said to have a detox effect as well as recovery from fatigue, relaxation, metabolism, and promotion of blood circulation.
Additionally, when you pour water infused with Yamato Tachibana aroma oil onto a sauna stone, a refreshing scent spreads along with the heated steam, making it extremely relaxing.
Wash away the stress and fatigue you have accumulated from everyday life with sweat, and cool down your warm body with cold river water! You can also enjoy forest bathing in the forest sauna, refreshing both your mind and body. Even if it's not a sauna, you'll want to shout out loud, "It's all set!" If you repeat it several times, you will feel warm from the core of your body, so it is effective for those who are sensitive to cold.
After rejuvenating your body and mind in the sauna, we recommend that you enjoy delicious rice, sweets, and tea made with local ingredients at Morino Chaya, a cafe located in the forest at the entrance to the mountain path.
Nature experiences are activities that can be enjoyed with peace of mind, as they are often outdoors and there are few large crowds, making it difficult for people to be in close quarters. At Shirataki oaki, we not only take basic measures to prevent infectious diseases, but also put some effort into our operations so that our users can enjoy nature experiences in a safe and secure manner.
We have installed hand sanitizer and distributed masks for users to use as needed.
