Makomo Village Tour ☆ Yunoyama Onsen, Shikanoyu Hotel, etc. ~ KomonoTown Part 2 ~

掲載日:2013.02.06

I covered Makomo no Sato "KomonoTown" - Yunoyama Onsen Hotel, Shikanoyu Hotel, Aquaignis, and paramitamuseum. (February 2013)
This is the perfect time to enjoy hot springs along with playing in the snow, enjoying the spectacular views, and walking in the air at Mt.Gozaisho! At the foot of Mt.Gozaisho is the famous hot spring Yunoyama Onsen, where you can enjoy everything from day trips to the hot springs, to meals, and overnight stays.
You can stay the night the night before, see the frost-covered trees on Mt.Gozaisho in the morning, play in the snow all day on Mt.Gozaisho, and then relax over the night to heal your body. Please take your time☆

This time, we visited "Shikanoyu Hotel" out of the many inns and hotels at Yunoyama Onsen. The first thing I saw when I entered the lobby was a beautiful origami crane. It is based on the ``legend of origami cranes'' at Sangakuji Temple in the hot spring town, and if you look closely at the cranes on the left, you will see that they are connected. This is a traditional art called ``Kuwana Renzuru,'' which involves folding several consecutive origami cranes from a single sheet of paper. It's amazing♪

As I greeted the young proprietress who was guiding me around, she served me tea and sweets. Tea is an auspicious drink that has been passed down in Japan since ancient times, and is called ``fukucha,'' which is drunk to pray for good health throughout the year.

This original fukucha is quite elaborate and contains soybeans from KomonoTown soaked in plum vinegar, brown rice, pickled plums, and kelp.It has a nice aroma and is very healthy. A stylish welcome drink made with wild yam and Japanese yam that goes perfectly with tea ceremony♪

When we were shown around the facility, there were Hina dolls displayed everywhere. When I asked about it, I was told that until March 3rd (Sunday), the dolls will be on display at various facilities in the hot spring town, including the Shikanoyu Hotel, under the title ``Kirara no Ohina-sama.'' I want to see all kinds of dolls.

"Kirara" is an association of proprietresses of Yunoyama Onsen, and they jointly hold events and produce products that are locally produced for local consumption, such as alcohol, cider, and plum jelly. .

First, we were given a tour of some of the three concept rooms, including a hot spring semi-open-air bath and a top-of-the-line "special room" with a dining room. Here we would like to introduce one of our concept rooms, ``Watatsuki''.

This room is inspired by the moon passing through the night sky of Yunoyama, and is very spacious and has an open feel. On the other hand, the Japanese-style room is elegantly appointed, making it very relaxing. The bed is made by Simmons, which offers the best sleep possible. Soak in the hot springs, enjoy a meal, relax in your room, and rest at Simmons... By all means♪

And our proud hot springs. It is also called ``Deer Bath'' because it is said to have healed injured deer. It is a colorless and transparent alkaline spring that is said to be effective against muscles, rheumatoid arthritis, eczema, and women's diseases.

In addition to the large public bath and open-air bath, there are two private baths, ``Hinoki-no-Yu'' where you can feel the warmth of wood, and ``Kousa-no-Yu'' (pictured), where you can feel the warmth of the wood. This is perfect for those who want to relax in peace.

・Large bath: 24 hours
・Open-air bath: Check-in ~ 22:00, check-out ~ 6:00
・Private bath: 50 minutes, 2,100 yen, same time as open-air bath
・Day trip bathing: 1000 yen (towel and bath towel included), 11:00-15:00

For meals, go to Dining Makoto, which opened in July last year. It is a semi-private room with table seats and sunken kotatsu seats, where you can thoroughly enjoy Japanese cuisine made with the best ingredients by the head chef, who has won the Medal with Yellow Ribbon.

Another point of interest is the entrance wall. The ``Makomo'' that the young proprietress was addicted to is dynamically displayed. Furthermore, it seems that the clay on the walls is also kneaded with makomo, which gave me a sense of the young proprietress's commitment.

This makomo (Makomo) is a plant that grows in clusters in wetlands near water, and is said to be the origin of the name of KomonoTown. The crunchy texture of the stems is popular, and the green leaves, which are rich in nutrients, are ground into powder and used in noodles and sweets. In addition, because it has a purifying effect, it is displayed throughout the building, and is spread under the tatami mats in the concept room ``Makono'' (pictured at the top and list), which has a ``Makomo'' motif.

There is also a great selection of souvenirs. Shigure-ni (simmered venison) is known as a local specialty, but the most popular dish these days is the ``Shikanoyu no Kashi (Makomosando),'' which is made with Hayari Makomo. I had it too, and it had a mild flavor and was delicious! In addition, the soybean called ``Fukutoyo,'' which is used in Fukucha, is also popular.

This is the young proprietress who showed us around this time. One of the members of the landlady's association "Kirara". It's bright and full of hospitality. I heard various ideas and fun stories one after another, and I absolutely love Yunoyama, Komono, and Mie! That's what I've been told.

What is your favorite season in Yunoyama, which is beautiful in all seasons? When I asked, I thought it was autumn when the leaves change color, but surprisingly the answer was May to June. The dazzling fresh greenery spreads across Mt.Gozaisho, giving the impression of a breath of fresh air. This is great information!

In addition to Mt.Gozaisho and Yunoyama Onsen, one of the many attractions in KomonoTown is AQUA× Aquaignis, which opened last fall. The hot springs fed directly from the source, the Italian chef Okuda's restaurant, and the sweets created by pastry chef Tsujiguchi are very popular. The Yunoyama roll I was looking for was sold out. Also, there are works by contemporary artists everywhere, making it a truly stylish space.
