The theme of Kintetsu's sightseeing express "Shimakaze" is "Go to Ise-Shima with the best hospitality"! Let me introduce you to its charm.

Running first class? A luxury hotel? ☆I covered the Kintetsu sightseeing express "Shimakaze" (March 2013)

As I was waiting at Kintetsu Nagoya Station, the sightseeing express train ``Shimakaze'' with its distinctive windshield and blue and white coloring came dashing in. This "Shimakaze" with the theme of "Going to Ise-Shima with the best hospitality" in preparation for the Jingu ShikinenSengu in October, is beautiful and powerful, giving a sense of elegance and dignity.

When I heard about it, it was named ``Shimakaze'' because it combines the freshness of the wind that blows in Shima with the comfort of spending time inside the car, and the blue exterior design is also inspired by the clear skies of Ise-Shima. that's right.

It took three and a half years to complete this Shimakaze, conducting questionnaire surveys, repeating trial and error, overcoming technical issues, and incorporating every item that would be nice to have.

When I got into the second car from the front, my first impression was how spacious it was. There are 3 rows of seats, and there is a wide distance between the seats in front and the space is extremely luxurious. Even when I stretched out my legs, I couldn't reach the seat in front of me...

The seats are fully covered with leather, and while they are firm, they also have the smoothness of the leather. In addition to electric reclining, there is also a function to adjust the stiffness of the leg rest and waist area, making it as comfortable as the ``premium first that pursues comfort.''

*A special Shimakaze vehicle fee is required in addition to the train ticket and limited express ticket.

When I went to the first car and took a seat, the attendant brought me a warm paper towel. It's like an airplane. Another nice thing is the commemorative ride pass. The Mikihiki ceremony for the Jingu ShikinenSengu is designed using Ise Katagami, a traditional craft from Mie Prefecture, and you can affix a stamp with the date on the back.

The attendants not only provide high-quality customer service, but also provide information on nearby tourist spots, making them truly concierges. At this point, is it a luxury hotel?

This is an observation vehicle, and the floor is 72 cm high, and it has large glass walls not only on the sides but also in the front, so you can feel open and enjoy the flowing scenery to your heart's content. Truly a special seat!

The front row directly behind the driver's seat is even more special. It's an irresistible feeling to be able to see the railroad tracks all the way ahead, and to look out over them as you move forward. You'll be hooked! Will there be a rush of reservations?

When we asked customers what they thought, they said, ``It has a luxurious feel to it.The seat position is high, so it's nice to feel like you're looking down.'' We received comments such as ``It's fun to ride,'' and ``In-car sales are plentiful.'' That's certainly true.

One of the six vehicles in Shimakaze is a cafe vehicle. There is a first floor and a second floor, each with a counter facing the window, where you can enjoy light meals, drinks, and sweets while enjoying the flowing scenery. It's nice to be able to enjoy local gourmet food such as Matsusaka beef curry and Ise-Shima sweets while riding the train.

After deciding between Shima Kanko Hotel's matcha-flavored ice cream, I decided on Gokasho's mandarin orange juice. Although it was rich, it had a refreshing sweetness and was delicious. Made delicious by the sun. It is packed with mandarin oranges from Minamiise.

This woman is also smiling. And Konyuudou-kun was also smiling.

Then go to the car in the middle. This is a unique vehicle, with salon seats, Japanese-style private rooms, and Western-style private rooms.

The salon seats are semi-private, with seats facing each other across a large table, perfect for groups of 4 to 6 people. You can not only talk, but also eat and play games, so you can have a great time.

And a Japanese-style private room. The seating area here is shaped like a sunken kotatsu. You take off your shoes and it's a completely private room, so you can relax and feel like you're at home. Personally, I think this is the best seat if you are going to visit Ise with your parents.

In addition, video services such as tourist information and BS broadcasts available only in Japanese-style private rooms and Western-style private rooms, room service with a cafe menu, and air purifiers are also available.

*For 3 to 4 people, a separate private room fee of 1000 yen is required.

Next is a Western-style private room. This is a Western-style version of a Japanese-style private room. The sofa is placed in an L-shape facing the window, so you can enjoy the view from the train window instead of watching the TV, giving it the image of a living room at home.

It's very convenient, with mirrors and stools, and video programs for children. Personally, I thought this would be a good seat if you were going to a Spanish village with your family and small children.

*For 3 to 4 people, a separate private room fee of 1000 yen is required.

*The information posted is as of March 2013.
