Continuing from last time, we will focus on "Autumn Minami Ise" and introduce recommended spots!
◆Article creation: Hanachiro
A father and mother of a mischievous daughter and a selfish son who live in IseCity.
There tend to be more photos of children looking like idiots (lol), but do they look energetic, fun, and cute? We are active with this motto!
After actually going out with my family, I'm sharing the charms of Mie that I highly recommend.
This time we will introduce a large ginkgo tree that stands in the schoolyard of Hobara Elementary School (*) in Iseji, Minamiise Town, MinamiiseTown Prefecture.
of this ginkgo tree is 400 years. The tree is much taller than the three-story school building, and the entire view is impossible to capture with a camera. It's truly an amazing sight! The estimated age
(*) The school was closed in 2014.
The schoolyard is covered with ginkgo leaves that have fallen from this large tree.
In late autumn, the large amount of leaves that fall from the large trees transforms the entire schoolyard into a golden color!
My son, who can only say numbers up to 10, had trouble counting the leaves (lol).
*The best time to see them is usually from late November to mid-December.
The area under the ginkgo tree looks like a tunnel due to the branches hanging down from the large tree.
The ginkgo biloba is so close that even my children can touch it, and it's a sight to behold.
Ginkgo trees reflect the autumn sunlight and turn bright colors, but at Hobara Elementary School, the sun sets behind the mountain slopes around 3 p.m.
So, my recommended time is morning.
From around 7:30, the whole ginkgo tree is dyed golden yellow by the morning sun.
Wooden benches have been installed in the schoolyard so that you can enjoy the sights at your leisure.
My daughter seemed to like the balance beam that was set up alongside the bench, and showed off her all-out performance (just a jump) over and over again (lol)
Play equipment like this is a sight unique to school grounds.
And finally, this time's highlight! When the sun goes down and it gets dark, the ginkgo trees are lit up!
The illumination time is from around 17:30 to around 24:00.
In 2021, it is scheduled to be held from November 20th until the ginkgo trees have completely shed their leaves in mid-December.
The golden ginkgo tree on an autumn night is truly a spectacular sight!
In front of the ginkgo tree, there is a stand for taking photos.
This illumination event was prepared by a group of alumni who carefully protect the giant ginkgo tree, and the illumination began in 2020.
Hobara Elementary School, which has a large ginkgo tree, has been carefully maintained by repeated mowing even after the school closed, and is carefully protected by local residents.
Please come and see this gorgeous golden autumn scenery!
Next, I would like to introduce some shops that you should definitely stop by when you visit MinamiiseTown!
Coffee Tower FIVE is a popular restaurant in MinamiiseTown where you can enjoy delicious fried shrimp and coffee.
The interior has a calm, retro atmosphere, where you can relax while listening to elegant music.
The signature menu is fried shrimp, and I also tried it from a local.
"If you come to Minamiise, try FIVE's fried shrimp!"
I was told about this shop.
What came out was a large fried shrimp with a head covered in homemade tartar sauce and rich sauce.
The plump meat and sauce were exquisite, and it was so delicious that I ate it whole, from head to tail.
In addition to the fried shrimp, I also ordered the fried horse mackerel, which is only available on days when there was local fishing, and it was also exquisite.
We are also particular about our coffee.
The beans used are from Nakamura Coffee, a famous restaurant in Ise that was also served at IseShimaSummit, and each cup is carefully brewed after each order is received.

There is a wide variety of sweets on the menu, and the menu changes depending on the season.
On this day, I received "Kinmokusei Panna Cotta".Homemade panna cotta topped with kinmokusei syrup, which had a gentle sweet aroma, went perfectly with the coffee.
Be sure to visit Coffee Tower FIVE, which is popular among locals!
