What is Kasamatsu Kawazu Sakura Road?
Kasamatsu Kawazu-zakura Road is a 1.5km long line of Kawazu-zakura trees along the agricultural canal in Kasamatsu-cho MatsusakaCity. There are approximately 350 Kawazu cherry trees, and you can see an arch of cherry blossoms surrounding the waterway.

Flowering time and best time to see
The Kawazu cherry blossoms on Kasamatsu Kawazu Sakura Road usually begin blooming around mid-February and reach their peak in early March. In 2024, as of February 16th, about 10-20% of the trees have begun to bloom. The petals are less likely to be scattered by the wind than Someiyoshino, so you can enjoy cherry blossom viewing until mid-March. *This photo was taken on March 12, 2022.

Parking lot/toilet location
When the Kawazu cherry blossoms begin to bloom, a temporary parking lot will be opened and you can park for free.
A temporary parking lot in 2024 will be built in and near Magpie Rural Park with the cooperation of local volunteers.
You can park for free at Fugamaru, but please be sure to use manners. Please refrain from parking anywhere other than the parking lot, as it will obstruct traffic.
About the location of the toilet
There are no restrooms on Kasamatsu Kawazu Sakura Road, but there are public restrooms at Magpie Rural Park.

① Take pictures when there is no wind or a light breeze
If there is strong wind, the water surface will fluctuate, making it difficult to see beautiful reflections. When there is no wind or a light breeze, the fluctuations on the water surface calm down and beautiful reflections appear.
FugamaruKasamatsu Kawazu Sakura Road is located near the sea with good ventilation, so the wind is often strong. I held out for about 3 hours, waiting for the right time for the wind to become light.
② Go early in the morning
Due to meteorological phenomena, the wind becomes weaker in the early morning. If you want to take perfect pictures of beautiful reflections, we recommend visiting around 6am to 7am. *Photo taken at 6:30am
