Mie Prefecture Tanabata Festival and Event Special Feature [2024 Edition]

Write your wishes on strips of paper and hang them on bamboo leaves. July 7th is Tanabata day.
Even if you haven't written a strip of paper since you were a child, come to the Tanabata Festival this year and enjoy the summer tradition!

Okage-yokocho Tanabata Festival (IseCity)

Okage-yokocho Tanabata Festival

July 7th is Tanabata, one of the five festivals. Summer is a tradition where various festivals and events are held in various places. At Okage-yokocho, we will be holding various events so that you can enjoy the summer sky with the bamboo leaves swaying.

Sobun no Tanabata (TsuCity)

Bamboo leaves decorated with Tanabata decorations will be placed throughout the facility. Please feel free to write your wishes and display the strips of paper as Tanabata decorations.
In front of the Prefectural Library on the 1st floor of the Lifelong Learning Building, we will also exhibit bamboo light objects created by Kohei Kawabuchi, a bamboo light artist and director who is well known for his work ``Sobun no Bamboo Light''!
◆Write your wishes on strips of paper at the “Wish Upon a Star Desk”!
We will set up a ``Wish Upon a Star Desk'' near the Tanabata decorations. You can freely write your wishes on strips of paper and display them on the bamboo.

isshinden Tanabata Festival (TsuCity)

At the Tanabata Festival, an event just before summer vacation, everything is handmade, including handmade trains and bamboo decorations.
In addition to the popular mini SL, you can enjoy various games. There are Tsutakatora Taiko drums, Yosakoi, bingo, marche, food stalls, and more, so people of all ages can enjoy it.
Be sure to also visit the Mieido and Nyoraido halls of SENJUJIHeadTempleoftheShinshuTakadaSchool which have been designated as national treasures.

The Tanabata Festival will be held at Ugata Shrine (the shrine where you passed exams), which is said to bring blessings for your entrance exams.

Taekoji Temple Tanabata Festival (prayer meeting) (IseCity)

The Tanabata Festival (prayer gathering) will be held from July 1st (Mon) to July 14th (Sun), 2024. Local people will decorate the area with colorful strips of paper on which they have written their wishes, and the area will be lit up.
