Grill Katayama (IseCity) "Sauteed Ise Shrimp" "Chef's Recommendations"
In 1972, Toshimi Katayama, who was a former chef at the Shima Kanko Hotel, opened a counter-only restaurant serving Western food in an arcade in front of IseCity Station. We started out as a small shop with only 11 seats.
Since Ise is blessed with an abundance of quality ingredients, I have been living there for 12 years with the desire to one day open a French restaurant that focuses on high-quality ingredients such as local spiny lobster, abalone, and Matsusaka meat. . Opened a slightly larger store in Fukiage, an arcade that was loved by locals. A long-awaited French restaurant. Currently, we have a shop in Iwabuchi.
Grill Katayama is loved because even though it is a French restaurant, it has been run by a family since the previous restaurant, with the aim of providing a homely atmosphere without formality. Kagetsu is a large shop with a Japanese-style exterior, located a little off the main street in Toba.
We do not use any frozen spiny lobster, and are particular about making all of our lobsters fresh from the tank. This restaurant's specialty is ``Ise lobster figure steamed'' (from 5,500 yen), which is made by placing spiny lobsters so lively that they look like they're about to run away and steaming them in a table steamer.
For those who want to luxuriously enjoy Ise lobster in various forms such as steamed, grilled, and fried, we recommend the ``Ise lobster supreme course'' (25,300 yen), which uses 5 lobsters per person. There are also courses starting from 6,050 yen for those looking for a bit of luxury on their own.
Since they only use natural spiny lobsters from Mie Prefecture, they can only be tasted from late September to early May.
From early May to mid-September, the restaurant specializes in natural abalone from Mie Prefecture. We recommend the ``Abalone Pair Course'' (13,200 yen), where you can enjoy both ``black abalone'' and ``red abalone,'' which are considered lucky abalone.
