Introducing spots where you can enjoy Kawazu cherry blossoms in Mie Prefecture!

Kawazu-zakura is an early-blooming cherry tree that blooms from February to March. This lovely pink cherry tree heralds the arrival of spring a little earlier than the Someiyoshino cherry tree, and is characterized by its large, dark pink flowers and long blooming period.

Kawazuzakura on Kasamatsu Kawazuzakura Road

Approximately 350 Kawazuzakura trees have been planted by local people along the approximately 1,500m long agricultural canal that flows through Kasamatsu Town. Kawazu-zakura is an early-blooming cherry tree that blooms for about a month or more and is characterized by its large, pink flowers. You can experience the arrival of spring early on Kawazu Sakura Road.

Kawazu cherry blossoms in ZuikenKawamura Park (Minamiise Town, MinamiiseTown)

Around mid-February, the Kawazu cherry blossoms are in full bloom below Zuiken Park along National Route 260, and the area is crowded with cherry blossom viewers and photographers. Over a dozen white-eyes gather at Kawazu-zakura to suck the nectar from the flowers, making the park a lively place.

A famous spot for Kawazu cherry blossoms in KumanoCity. At Yamazaki Sports Park, the early blooming cherry blossoms ``Kawazuzakura'' are at their best from mid-February to early March.
Approximately 150 Kawazu cherry trees are planted around the park, making it a great place for people to enjoy walks and exercise.
