At TsubakiGrandShrine, the Setsubun Festival and Bean Throwing Ritual will be held from 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 3, 2020, on a special stage in front of the Shishido Traffic Safety Prayer Hall.

During the Setsubun Festival at Daifukudaji Temple (Kuwana Shoten), demons are paraded through the city to drive away evil spirits. A bean-throwing event is held in the shrine grounds, which is crowded with people.

Men and women from that year of unlucky years dress up as the divine fox's bride and groom, and reenact the fox's journey to the marriage ceremony. Afterwards, the ceremony will take place on the grounds, followed by the throwing of fukumame.
