Special feature on famous red spider lilies in Mie Prefecture

From around mid-September, red spider lily (Higanbana) blooms along rice field ridges and river banks. The bright red flowers are also called Manjushage, and they make you feel the arrival of autumn.
The cluster amaryllis that covers the slope looks like a red carpet!
The best time to see the flowers is only about a week, and their ephemerality is also their charm.

Red spider lilies are in full bloom every year along the footpaths and roads of Kitakamiyama Hanakaido. There are places where the flowers cover the cherry blossom trees, so you can enjoy the voluminous red spider lilies.

In autumn, red spider lilies bloom along the railroad tracks between Isshi Station and Iseki Station. You can enjoy the scenery of the Meimatsu Line and the bright red cluster amaryllis.
