Hisetsu-no-takiFalls Campground will be reopened in 2018! I will report on my stay experience in a beautiful and clean cottage (Kiho Town, KihoTown)
掲載日:2018.05.09
Hisetsu-no-takiFalls Campsite, the southernmost campsite in Mie Prefecture, is located in KihoTown, Minamuro District, and reopened in April 2018. It is also convenient for sightseeing in HigashiKishu and visiting Kumano Sanzan. I immediately stayed in a newly built barrier-free cottage! Enjoy the fun that only a campsite can offer, such as playing in the river on a promenade surrounded by greenery, kayaking around a majestic waterfall, and enjoying a barbecue prepared with local ingredients. Camping for the first time as a family was a memorable experience! Please make a reservation.
Do you know the southernmost campground in Mie Prefecture?
``Hisetsu Falls Campsite'' in KihoTown is a campsite where you can experience `` Hisetsu-no-takiFalls'' up close, which has a height of 30 meters.
Originally, it was only open as a tent site, but it reopened on April 27, 2018 with the addition of cottages and new facilities for direct sales and customer exchange.
So, I went to visit the newly built cottage!
We will tell you about the charm of a new campsite with rich nature and complete facilities.
This time, the Tanimoto family from TsuCity, visited the Hisetsu-no-takiFalls Campsite.
Five-year-old Wataru-kun was so happy about his first camping trip that he woke up at 5 a.m. that day.
When you arrive at the campsite, first check in at Hiyuki no Sato, a direct sales/customer exchange base facility.
The newly built building uses a lot of locally sourced wood, and when you step inside, you can smell the gentle scent of wood.
After receiving an explanation of the facility from the staff, you will receive the key to the cottage where you will stay for the night.
In addition to the equipment and ingredients needed for camping, the shop inside the building also sells locally grown branded rice, ``Hiyukimai'', locally grown vegetables, and local sweets that make perfect souvenirs.
It is also used as a direct sales store for specialty products.
Now let's go to the cottage.
The cottages were named ``Taki no Yado'' and eight new cottages were built.
All cottages are designed to be barrier-free.
There is a gentle slope leading up to the entrance, there are almost no steps inside the cottage, and the toilet is equipped with a handrail.
Additionally, the kitchen is equipped with an IH heater and a refrigerator.
There is also a bath with a large bathtub, a spacious sink, and a toilet with a washing function, so you won't feel any of the inconveniences that are typical of camping sites.
Above all, I'm happy that it's clean and neat!
The Japanese-style room is spacious enough for families to relax.
It feels good to lie down on new tatami mats!
And it comes with a nice loft!
Just having a loft makes you feel excited.
By the way, the cottage can accommodate up to 4 adults.
On this day, we will take a walk along the promenade that takes us upstream of Hisetsu-no-takiFalls.
From the location overlooking the rural landscape of the Asari district, where the campsite is located, you can see freshly planted rice fields full of water, the majestic Kumano River, and Shingu City, Wakayama Prefecture on the opposite bank.
This area is surrounded by trees and is quiet, and the clear water from the waterfall basin is outstanding.
This river has an unusual topography where a mountain stream flows over a large monolith.
Wataru-kun, who doesn't care about the cold river water, has a lot of fun playing in the river with his father. Don't worry if you slip and fall and get your butt wet!
The Asari area suffered severe damage from the heavy rains caused by Typhoon No. 12 in 2011, but has now been restored and offers a peaceful and beautiful rural landscape.
It has been selected as one of the top 100 Japanese villages, and its scenery, which can be described as the original Japanese landscape, will soothe your soul.
Being able to enjoy a barbecue at the back of the cottage is very convenient and nice.
All barbecue ingredients, charcoal, and barbecue sets are provided at the campsite, making it easy for even beginners (separate fee from accommodation required, reservations required).
Ingredients include local Kiwa beef, local vegetables, Sakura pork, sausages, and more.
The first day of camping ends with a delicious barbecue in a beautiful natural environment.
BGM is the sound of insects.
Enjoy a luxurious time that can only be experienced in KihoTown, which is rich in nature.
Today, let's play at the symbol of the campsite, "Hisetsu-no-takiFalls."
At Hisetsu-no-takiFalls Campsite, we always have safe duckies (inflatable kayaks) that can be filled with air, so you can enjoy activities at Hisetsu-no-takiFalls and the Kumano River.
Wataru and his father also rented wet suits and life jackets, did some warm-up exercises, and then it was time for their first experience with Ducky.
After receiving guidance from the staff, we board a two-seater ducky and head to the waterfall basin.
The experience of receiving water falling from a waterfall all over your body like a shower is something you can't do anywhere else.
It's great when it's hot!
By the way, the actual video looks like this.
It's quite impressive! Please come and experience it for yourself.
We thoroughly enjoyed playing in the waterfall while getting soaked all over!
Wataru-kun is also very satisfied.
``We want to come visit again!'' said the father and mother, who seem reluctant to leave.
`` Hisetsu-no-takiFalls Campsite'' has a barbecue site with a view of the waterfall and a tent site on the lawn that stretches out next to the waterfall, so both day-trip campers and veteran campers with camping equipment can enjoy it.
Also, since Shingu City is located just across the Kumano River, it is convenient for visiting the Kumano Sanzan (Kumano Hongu Taisha, Kumano Nachi Taisha, and Kumano Hayatama Taisha), which are registered as World Heritage Sites.
There are many attractions in KihoTown, such as the `` Michi-no-eki KihochoUmigamePark'' where sea turtles are kept, so be sure to spend your next vacation experiencing the idyllic rural scenery and rich nature at `` Hisetsu-no-takiFalls Camp''. Why don't you visit the place?
Even if you don't have any camping equipment or have no camping experience, you can enjoy your time with peace of mind.

KihoTownThe word ``yūgen'' is apt for this waterfall located to the west of Asari Shrine, which is 30 meters high and 12 meters wide, and where water falls from the sky like falling from the sky. Long ago, Tokugawa Yorinobu (Nanryu Lord), the lord of the Kishu domain, visited this waterfall and was struck by its beauty. When the wind blows, snow dances like droplets,'' he wrote in a Chinese poem. Because of this, it came to be called `` Hisetsu-no-takiFalls''.
