`` IseJingu'' is the ``hometown of the Japanese people'' and is said to be ``visit Ise once in a lifetime.'' We will introduce in detail information that is useful to know before visiting IseJingu, such as the worship route and the order of detours.
IseJingu is not a single shrine, but a collective name for 125 shrines and shrines, centered on Kotaijingu (Naiku) and Toyouke-daijingu (Geku), and is officially called ``Jingu''.
The center of IseJingu is Naiku and Geku, and Kotaijingu, which enshrines Amaterasu-Omikami Amaterasu-Omikami, the guardian deity of the Japanese people, is called Naiku. Toyouke oaki Toyouke-daijingu is called Geku.
In addition, the Geku and Naiku shrines are also called "Goshogu", and the prestigious palaces equivalent to the Goshogu are called "Betsugu".

Although Geku and Naiku are located far apart, it is an old custom to visit Geku first and then Naiku.
Furthermore, when visiting the shrine, the official order is to go to Goseigu → Betsugu, so the correct route to visit is Goseigu in Geku → Betsugu in Geku → Goseigu in Naiku → Betsugu in Naiku.

Geku
We will introduce a 60-minute course that takes you around the major locations of IseJingu Geku.
First, cross the Omotesando Hiyoke Bridge, which is the entrance to Geku, and then cleanse your hands and mouth at the Chozuya.
After purifying yourself, you will first visit the main shrine where Toyouke-no-Omikami is enshrined, and then visit the three Betsugu and six shrines within the precincts.
If you have time, it would be a good idea to stop by the Magatama Pond and SenguKanMuseum within the temple grounds and feel the nature and history of Geku.

After purifying yourself, you will first visit the main shrine where Amaterasu-Omikami is enshrined, then return to UjibashiBridge area and visit other Betsugu.
First, start from UjibashiBridge, which is the gateway to Naiku. If you cross the bridge and go to the right, you will find the ``Shinen'', which is called the Garden of the Gods, and beyond that, you can wash your hands at the Isuzu River Mitaraiba.

Visiting Naiku open is called early morning mairi, and is known as the time when there are fewer worshipers. On sunny days, the sun shines through the trees on the approach path, allowing you to refresh your mind and body in the refreshing atmosphere.
Evening finale
Visiting the shrine in the evening just before the gates close (around 5:00pm to 6:00pm) is called ``Yumazume'' (evening time), and there is a calmness that is different from the daytime, making it the perfect time to purify your mind.
