It is one of the most difficult spots on Tokaido, next to Hakone and Suzuka Pass. It is a steep slope that Takeru Takeru of Japan climbed on his way back from an expedition to the east, using the sword at his waist as a walking stick due to extreme fatigue. There is also a haiku monument that is said to have been composed by MatsuoBasho here.

You can view and edit the sightseeing route (My Plan on My Page) that will take you around the selected spots.
