In KihoTown, you can see three types of fireflies: Genji fireflies, Heike fireflies, and Hime fireflies from early May to late June, when rice planting begins every year.
In particular, from early May to late May, the wild dance of Genji fireflies flying over the rural valley rivers in Hiraoi, Ida, and konochi districts is a sight to behold. In addition, while Genji fireflies and Heike fireflies fly to the water's edge, in mid-June you can see Himebotaru fireflies, also known as forest fireflies, shining a silver light in the mountains within the town.
