Nachi Kuroishi
This extremely fine-grained aquatic slate is produced in the Kamigami Valley in Kamikawa-cho KumanoCity, and is used to make ink stone, Go-ishi, and okishi. Historically, Nachi Kuroishi has been used as a commercial product, and it is said that envoys to the Tang Dynasty brought it as a souvenir as a raw material for Go stones.
