TheAkame48Falls

TheAkame48Falls is a beautiful piece of natural art created by numerous waterfalls connected upstream of the Takigawa River that flows on the border between Iga and Yamato. It is located in the center of Murou Akame-Aoyama Quasi-National Park and is approximately 4 kilometers long.

The mysterious nature of Akame has been selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Waterfalls, Top 100 Forests for Forest Bathing, and Top 100 Walks, and the harmony of elegant colors and sounds created by the trees, mountain streams, and waterfalls that weave through the valley is a natural setting. It makes it more enjoyable.

Iga Ueno Castle

Iga Ueno Castle

TakatoraTodo, and today the inner moat, stone walls, and castle tower built in 1930 remain.

Inside the three-story castle, there are weapons and armor, relics of the Todo family, and 46 ceiling paintings of famous people, including Yokoyama Taikan. The stone wall of the inner moat, which boasts one of the highest heights in Japan, is also a must-see.

In addition, local materials from IgaCity are on display. The current three-story castle tower was built by Mr. Katsu Kawasaki in 1933. It is also called Iga Cultural and Industrial Castle and is a designated cultural property of the city.

A historical space that quietly breathes between the pine fence and stone pavement, this is a samurai residence where the Kishu clan samurai moved to protect Matsuzaka Castle at the end of the Edo period.

In the vast 150,000 square meter garden at the top of the mountain, you can enjoy seasonal flowers such as Asaguma Nanakusa and Jingu Azalea, and there are also hammocks and walking trails.
There is also an observation footbath on the observation deck, and you can see a magnificent panorama of Ise Bay, Chubu Centrair International Airport, and on clear skies, the Japanese Alps and Mt. Fuji in the distance.

Near the top of the mountain, there is Kongosho-ji Temple, a famous temple of the Nanzen-ji sect, which has been famous for a long time ago, saying, ``If you visit Ise KongoshojiTemple you...''. This temple is also known as the inner temple of the shrine, as it protects the demon gate of IseJingu. The main hall is designated as an important cultural property and is dedicated to one of Japan's three great Kokuzo Bodhisattvas.

View from Yokoyama Observatory①

To the west of Ugata, you can see Ago Bay at an altitude of 203 meters. An omnidirectional observation deck in the Shima region where you can see Mt.Asama direction. There are observation decks from the first to third observation decks along the ridge.

The view overlooking Ago Bay to the south is one of the most spectacular in Ise-Shima.
