Gannoyama dance and votive fireworks to pray for recovery from illness and safety for the family

Every year on July 31st, a votive fireworks display is held at the Yoimiya Festival of the Gion Festival at Yobuta Shrine. The fireworks over the approximately 35m tall large flag are a unique sight of Yobuta Shrine. There are many stalls on the grounds, and it is very busy with families and friends coming together.
Also, every year on August 1st, the Gion Festival features the "Nannoyama Dance," a dance that makes prayers for recovery from illness and the safety of the household. In the "Nannoyama Dance," a mansion with three Japanese drums attached, called "Nannoyama," is pulled around the temple grounds by 30 people, and parishioners with feathers on their heads dance to the tune of songs while beating the drums. The dance is performed three times, including the return of the portable shrine.

You can view and edit the sightseeing route (My Plan on My Page) that will take you around the selected spots.
