Explanatory text

Affectionately known as Takada Honzan, this temple is the head temple of the Shinshu sect, founded by Saint Shinran. Senshu-ji Temple, the head temple of the Takada branch of the Shinshu sect, is located in isshinden, forming a temple town within the temple grounds and continuing to pass on the Nembutsu teachings popularized by Saint Shinran.
