If you walk about 300m from Honjoyama Youth Park, you will find the tranquil and quaint mountain temple, Enkoji. Said to have been founded in 1358 (early Muromachi period), this historic temple of the Tofukuji school of the Rinzai sect is surrounded by old trees and exudes a solemn atmosphere. In particular, during the autumn foliage season, the sight of the leaves towering over the mountain gate turning a riot of color is truly spectacular.
