It has a long history, and is said to have been discovered in 718 by the monk Jōkun after receiving a prophecy from Yakushi Nyorai. It is also known as "Deer's Bath" due to the legend that a wounded deer came here to heal its wounds. The spring quality is alkaline radium spring. It is said to be effective for gastrointestinal disorders, neuralgia, and external injuries, and is also popular among women as a beauty bath, as it is said to be a miracle cure for beautiful skin!
