Explanatory text

In late May, 1,500 hydrangeas of 50 different varieties bloom all around the temple, making it look as if there is a temple among the hydrangeas, and the locals call it the "Hydrangea Temple." The temple's real name is "Hoju-san Daiji-ji Temple," and it is a Rinzai sect Myoshinji temple. The guardian deity is the Eleven-Headed Kannon Bodhisattva.
