Explanatory text
This is the mansion of Ozu Seizaemon, a wealthy merchant who sold paper and cotton on a large scale in Edo. The simple exterior with latticed windows and yagura (rail-shaped fence) makes the house surprisingly spacious, and two storehouses remain, giving a glimpse into the lifestyle of an "Edo storehouse-owning Ise merchant."
