Explanatory text
It is said that the temple was founded by the monk Shunjobo Chogen as a branch temple of Todaiji Temple in the Kamakura period. It is home to numerous temple treasures, including the Great Buddha, an Important Cultural Property, and the 6m-tall Iwaya Fudoson, and visitors can enjoy flowers that change with the seasons within the grounds.
