Explanatory text

This is a Shinto ritual in which a new large shimenawa rope is hung on Meotoiwa(rocksofthemarriedcouple) Meoto Iwa rocks, and is handed over by worshippers along with the remains of the shrine parishioners. It is held every year on the 5th of May and September, and on Saturdays and Sundays in mid-December (Futamiokitama-JinjaShirine).
